Newest Review: ... as its in the town centre and next to the train station. The room was beautiful we had a modern furnished room, not sure if they have more traditionally decorated rooms. The hotel is as grand inside as it is outside, with excellent facilities including swimming pool spar etc. The restaurant meal was beautiful and I really enjoyed drinks in the bar before heading to the bars just a couple of minutes walk away. It isn't massively expensive but neither is it cheap but what I can say is that its worth the money we paid which was around £180, however this was in June. I had a write a review for this hotel as it is where my husband proposed! We stayed here for the weekend and really enjoyed it, its perfect for a no hassle weekend as its in the town centre and next to the train station. The room was beautiful we had a modern furnished room, not sure if they have more traditionally decorated rooms. Griffon Forest Holiday Lodges (York) - Lovely woodland, nice lodge and lots of wildlife! Some small niggles but otherwise an enjoyable stay.
Express by Holiday Inn (York East) - Breakfast included in room rate. Clean and comfortable room. Having no bath could be a disadvantage for some, but not for me.
Holmlea Guest House (York) - reasonable price and free internet entrance. no lock in bathroom and no shower in peak time.
