Slough/Windsor Marriot (Slough) Reviews

Newest Review: ... floor pillows! The beds were very comfortable, with good quality sheets and squishy pillows. Décor was nice and modern, with white sheets and a red throw over the bottom of the bed. Apart from two double beds the room featured a desk and swivel chair, two chairs and a small table, a chest of drawers (two long drawers, two small), a flatscreen LG TV, and a wardrobe. There was a decent choice of TV channels, similar to what you'd get on Freeview, plus some pay-per-view channels. Amenities included trouser press, iron and ironing board, safe (wide enough to fit laptop), kettle, cups, tea & coffee (yucky UHT milk), ice bucket, and haird... more

We stayed here recently as part of the Legoland package. When searching the Legoland Holidays website this hotel was one of many choices available, but had a good customer star rating, as well as being a 4 star rates hotel. It was also reasonably priced, coming in at £349 for 3 nights, including tickets for Legoland (2 adults, with 2nd day free, and a 2 & a 4 year old going free). Check-in was from 3pm onwards, and it was just after 4pm when we arrived on the Sunday. It's located literally just off the M4 motorway at junction 5, not far from Heathrow airport. There's a large car park at the front and rear of the hotel, accessed by barrier. You take a ... Read the complete review

LOCATION This Hotel has recently changed its name from the Slough/Windsor Marriot to the Heathrow/Windsor Marriot - but despite this name change it remains in Slough! In terms of scenery and the local area this hotel isn't very well located - you are surrounded by motorway and residential main roads. The hotel is an ugly building, and unfortunately blends into the area well. I don't think this would put off any visitors however, because this hotel is really well situated for convenient access to loads of places, mainly Heathrow Airport. The location has excellent potential for being noisy - being right under Heathrow's flight path and adjacent to the M4, but I ... Read the complete review

**** Marriot**** This was a hotel i had always wanted to stay in as apparently it is quite good.On my last holiday i had that chance as i had to fly from London. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is very handy to stay in if you are getting an early flight the next day.It is also close to the likes of Lego land and the last time i checked they offer packages meaning you can save some money.Getting to the hotel can be expensive if you get it wrong-i was about £40 for a taxi, when i could have got the hopper bus for about a fiver. **Reception/staff** My first impression of the building was is this it-i thought it would be a lot ... As ever - apologies for the inevitable DooYoo capitalization probs. I know there's a fix, but...... read the review! I hope you enjoy! Marriott must be absolutely mad! Slough not only sounds disgusting, it even has a poem written about it. In 1937, Sir john Betjeman wrote famously wrote: "Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough! It isn't fit for humans now, There isn't grass to graze a cow. Swarm over, Death!" And many more lines ensue; you get the picture, I'm sure! The first paragraph sets the scene, anyway, for this new town adjacent to London's Heathrow airport. Holiday destination ... Read the complete review

Marriott Reward cards are useful if you are a business traveller. You can gain free rooms, upgrades or breaks if you just accrue a mere 20000 points ($1 = 10 points). This is quite hard to manage as an everyday bloke like me, not actually being like Alan Partridge living in a Marriott Hotel. You will, however, receive great deals through the post as a bonus for your loyal custom. We were sent a special offer leaflet for the spring this year. The plum deal at the moment meant we were able to get a two-night stay in any Marriott or Courtyard hotel for just £90. We chose the Slough/Windsor hotel for the bank holiday weekend. I have to admit that we had hoped to be ... Read the complete review
