Advantages: Good communal facilities, close to city centre, professional staff

Disadvantages: Had a disappointing check in

I recently stayed in this hotel for just over a week, whilst I looked to find somewhere more permanent to stay in Sheffield.

Overall, the hotel is very nice. On arrival you are confronted by this very grand building and then once inside the reception/ lobby is also very well done.

My room was extremely large with decent furniture and complementary toiletaries and a selection of teas along with coffee and hot chocolate are available to have. The TV in the room was not great, and only got channels 1-4, but in the end I watched hardly any TV due to what communal facilities the hotel had to offer.

The hotel had a very large garden, including a relatively lake and a small forest. On a nice evening this was great for just going out into and enjoying the views or just being outside.

Inside, there was a small sports complex including a pretty decent gym with good facilities and a swimming pool, albeit small.

I never ate at the restaurent as it was too expensive for me so can't comment, unfortunately I don't remember the prices. However breakfast was included and was a full cooked breakfast which was very well done. Cereal was also avaiable.

I paid a varying rate for a double room of between £63-£79 per night, so if you weren with your partner it would only really be £30-£40 each, which I don't think is bad at all for what the hotel had to offer.

Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful although there was one member who I was not too impressed with, who handled my check in.

The hotel is located just outside central Sheffield, I think about 1.5 miles away, so should be walkable for most people.

Summary: Well worth the money
