Advantages: beautiful hotel rooms, tasty breakfast, friendly staff and very nice location

Disadvantages: I can't always afford such luxury!

I stayed here back in April ('07), and was delighted by all aspects of my visit to Brighton & Hove - helped greatly by the truly luxurious hotel rooms and handy (almost) seafront location of The Claremont!

On Second Avenue in Hove, the hotel is about 10 - 15 mins walk to the middle of town, but a leisurely stroll past "The Lawns" on a sunny day made it seem more like 5 minutes! There are plenty of nice restaurants near the hotel if you can't be bothered with the bustle of the city centre, and buses and taxis are plentiful.

Inside the hotel, the rooms were lovely! We had a 'Superior Double' room, a little more than I would usually pay for a hotel at £145 per room per night, but worth it ... Contemporary, luxurious and spacious, as described on their website, with small touches to make our stay more memorable including complimentary mineral water, luxury bathrobes and "posh" toiletries.

Breakfast was cheerfully served (from 7.30 - 9am during the week, 8 - 10am on the weekend) and very tasty, plus they cater for vegetarians, vegans and other special dietary requirements.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the whole building was beautifully furnished and well-kept.
They even have a pretty garden, although it's not very big!

The Claremont also offers a function room, for business meetings or dinner parties, or even Weddings.

Check in is from 1pm and Check out is at 11am, and prices are from £75 (single room) per night.
The Claremont has been graded 5 stars.
