The Gresham Hotel in Dublin has been a landmark in the city since 1817 when Thomas Gresham bought the street. The hotel, situated at 23 Upper O’Connell Street, Dublin, is the Flagship of the Gresham Chain, which includes properties in Dun Loughaire, Cork and Amsterdam. You can reach the hotel from the airport by catching the ‘imaginatively’ named 747 Airport Bus straight into the city, and the first bus stop is right outside the Gresham, this bus costs 5-6 Euro. Alternatively a taxi into the centre of town will cost around 25 Euro. I was in the fortunate position of being able to stay in the Gresham for two nights as part of my last EVER ... I was lucky enough to win a flights to Lodnon and accomodation in a hotel for myself and my boyfriend this week from RoadRunner Records. We stayed in the 4-star Gresham Hyde Park on Lancaster Gate. We arrived at the hotel on Monday night after having a delayed flight but felt that the staff weren't very welcoming towards us. In most hotels that I have been to they gave directions to the room and were polite, but in the Gresham they gave us dirty looks and hardly spoke so we ended up having to search for the room ourselves. The Gresham Hotel. This has to be the best hotel that my wife and I have stayed in,having stayed a lot of hotels in Dublin. The rooms, the food, the service, the staff, were all faultless.Luxury is the theme, but at an afordable price, with mid week and weekend specials on offer.they have a secure car park with a small charge for guests, the hotel can also arrange tours and day trips for your pleasure.we would highly recommend this hotel which also caters for the disabled. The hotel has the added advantage of being located at the top of o'connell street which alone can give a good days outing with an abundance of shops and plenty of pubs with a totally Irish folk music ... Having stayed at a number of Dublin hotels and often passing by the impressive looking Gresham hotel I was eagerly anticipating my stay there. The hotel is in a very central location at the top of O'Connell Street so it is perfect for day-time persuits of shopping/sightseeing etc. However one drawback about the location is that at night-time O'Connell street is not always the most peaceful location and can tend to be rather noisy and rowdy. The hotel entrance and lobby are impressive. After a quick check-in which was ok we headed up to the room...and entered a sauna!!! The heat was incredible so I quickly tried to adjust the airconditioning which was ... Read the complete review
