Advantages: Cleanliness, Friendliness and close to beach

Disadvantages: Price, close to Boscombe high street

We stayed at the Urban Beach in Bournemouth after visiting friends for a big 50th birthday party, and were not disappointed. The rooms were really clean and tidy, and the bed was huge, so could not wait to go to sleep in it when we arrived! All the linens were fresh and clean and the en-suite bathroom nicely tiled and modern. The hotel itself is about 5 minutes walk away from the beautiful beach, and in summer it's fantastic.

The only downside is it's round the corner from Boscombe high street which can be not a very nice place to be at night, however overall the hotel makes up for this. The main centre of Bournemouth is around a 25 minutes walk away, but there are regular buses and taxis you can catch to take you there.

The hotel has a lovely outdoor seating area where you can sit down and watch the world go by while sipping a cocktail. The food is delicious, the breakfasts superb - best full english I've had in a hotel for a long time and the service is the icing on the cake. All staff are friendly, helpful, without being too in your face or false. This is a genuinely nice place to eat and stay.

The hotel can be quite pricy (we paid around £90 for the one night), however it was a lovely hotel and room, and most hotels in and around Bournemouth are within that price range.

With the new surf reef being built in Bournemouth due to open shortly, I will be going back to the Urban Beach hotel, as it's right next to the location of the reef, however i anticipate the prices will increase when the whole develpoment is finished.

Summary: Overall nice modern hotel which I'm sure will go from strength to strength in Bournemouth
