Newest Review: ... has a good sized bath and a powerful shower, expect some nice cosmetics - shower gel and shampoo -no moisturiser ... more

... unfortunately. The beds are comfortable - with pillows and cushions and a duvet. Each room has air con and heating so you can control your own temperature. TVs are supplied - plasma flat screen ones - channels include BBC - channel 5 plus Sky sports 1-3 and Sky News plus various radio stations. There is a kettle, iron, ironing board and work desk -plus chairs and a coffee table so plenty of room to relax and work. Internet connection is pricey at £15 for 24 hours - again if work is paying then not a problem! Hotel fa...more

Premium Review Thistle Hotel Glasgow: Brilliant for the business visitor (789 words)
by - written on 06/11/09 (Very useful, 58 readings)
Rating:

I often have to travel to sunny Glasgow for work and have stayed at a number of hotels in the centre. The Thistle is located one block away from the main shopping street (Sauchiehall Street) and is around 10 minutes walk from Central Station (or a £3.60 taxi ride - if like me you are seven months pregnant and not going to lug a case in the rain!). Reception This is a large scale hotel - it caters for large groups and conferences so the reception is very spacious. There are normally 2 or 3 staff on the desk and if a large group is expected there will be a separate reception desk for them - brilliant if you want to check in ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Central location in Glasgow. (340 words)

I have stayed here on several occasions and have always found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. They tend to be of a resonable size and you can upgrade to executive rooms, though I wouldn't really think this is necessary unless here for a longer stay. They are adequately equipped with the usual tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. The hotel has a pleasant bar, thought it is not very big it does tend to have a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast is the usual buffet style with a good range of choices, but the dreaded toast machine is here for self service. The hotel does do meals but I have not eaten here other than breakfast. The restaurant is decorated in a mexican ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Thistle Hotel Glasgow: Reasonable hotel (245 words)
by - written on 26/05/09 (Very useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

The Thistle Hotel is ideally located in the centre of the town just off Sauchiehall Street and a five minute walk from the main bus terminal, Queen Street train station and the underground as well as the main shopping and bar districts. Parking is available on site for an extra charge. Rooms here are of a reasonable size and are clean with comfortable beds and surroundings. The bathrooms are of similar cleanliness and quality. The rooms come with all the standards expected of a hotel-wireless internet throughout the building, tea service in the rooms and the opportunity to have one of the executive or suite rooms-I haven't stayed in such a room and so can't ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Thistle - Glasgow (246 words)
by - written on 25/04/03 (Useful, 472 readings)
Rating:

The Thistle hotel Glasgow is situated on Cambridge Street, just off Glasgow?s main Suchiehall Street. It?s literally about 100 yards from the heart of Glasgow's shopping centre. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants within walking distance, with a cinema and theatre within 10 minutes walk. The hotel itself has a coffee shop, fitness centre, lounge bar and a reasonably sized swimming pool. The rooms are spacious each having a king sized bed or two singles, TV, phone, trouser press, separate iron, desk, table and chairs. The décor is not what you would call contemporary but it is clean and of a good standard. I had breakfast delivered to my ...  Read the complete review
