Advantages: value for money

Disadvantages: not good efficient staff

I work away from home sometimes and I have stayed in lots of hotels over the years and some of them have been the Travelodge hotels and these hotels are placed all over the uk.

I was working around the London area and this hotel was where I stayed for a couple of nights last year.

The hotel is situated not far from Kingscross Railway and Tube station and it is around a 5 minute walk to the hotel, on entering the hotel, there is a reception desk to check in, the time of the room being available is 3pm of which for me was 5pm and so my room was ready available but I once arrived at 2.45pm and I had to wait until after 3pm to have access to my room as they were apparently still cleaning the rooms.

The departure time is 12pm of which you have enough time to be ready to leave for home or your destination and to have a breakfast.

The room was very clean and I had no problems with it, but the size was not very big but was comfortable for the price.

There are tea and coffee facilities in the room, clean towels in the bathroom and soap.

There is a television in the room and extra pillows and a spare blanket for the bed if needed.

There is a breakfast available if needed priced at 5.95.
This hotel is convienient for the Kingscross Station.

The staff on arrival were not all that friendly in my opinion and I had to wait for 5 minutes before anyone even came to the counter.

The room was quite cold but there was a heater in the room but it took quite some time to warm up and it would have been nicer if the heating had been put on low since it was the winter.

This hotel is convenient for the London eye, Madame Tussauds, London Zoo, Covent Garden Market and lots more and Heathrow Airport is around 18 miles away from the hotel.

It is in my opinion a basic hotel but very clean and it is very handy for the attractions around London and being very close to a Tube station it is excellent for the links around the City.

Prices vary depending on the time of year you stay at the hotel and how far inadvance it is booked but prices can be from as little as £39.99 per night for a double room.

Overall I recommend this hotel but the rooms are a little small and although I cannot comment on the family rooms, my double room was quite small.

I rate it 4 stars

Summary: not bad value for the price
