Be very very wary when booking a room with Travelodge.

Unless it is a flexible room, you are likely to have zero chance of amending or cancelling a booking. They offer room insurance but this merely extracts a further £1 on top of the room booking and it transpired was worthless to me.

I advise under no circumstances should you attempt to cancel a room until you have spoken to the insurance company first to check the validity of the claim. Common sense might tell you that. However, a Travelodge operator might tell you the opposite. I was told it would not be a problem to cancel as I would get a cancellation claim number to obtain a refund and just simply needed to go through the motions. This was categorically not the case, and I am without a refund or the room.

Utterly misleading. And clearly very profitable for Travelodge. A cheap hotel with cheap values.
