Basic but won't break the bank (Travelodge in general)

Travel lodge, I don't think I know one of my friends that hasn't used them. The beauty of this company is that you know what you are getting. A decent sized room with basic facilities in decent locations. I must have stayed in 20 of these over the last few years, for short trips away mainly, but what prompted me to write this review was a phone call last night!

I am travelling down to London for a couple of days in October to see Hairspray so thought I'd book a travel lodge for the night , I actually ended up booking to as the second night was an amazing £9 , as I am sharing the room £4.50 each - amazing. What's more amazing is that this hotel is 0.9 miles from the centre of London. I booked this a few months ago and being particularly dozy at some point I have lost the details, so I rung up the travel lodge helpline. I was greeted with a message after 3 prompts each saying that this helpline was for this and that and to go online, so I was not hopeful! However when I got through after a 3 minute wait I was greeted politely and within 2 mins the adviser had found my reservation with minimum details from myself and given me my order numbers etc . I thought this was extremely clever, I think part of this however was being very relieved that it was all sorted.

Another reason that Travel lodges are so good is that if you have a family room you can have 2 adults and 2 children in one room essentially for £9 which works out at £2.25 a night! My friend in work regularly goes on overnight stays with his family to various UK cities as they can't afford holidays but at that price has nice little breaks away. What makes it easier is that they have a low price finder which makes it easier to find the cheap prices. They also feature offers on breakfasts online which gives them to you at a discount if you pay as you book the room. One thing you do have to watch out for is the car parking. This is often first come first served so make sure you have a back up plan.

Don't get me wrong some are better than others but the overall standard for what you pay is great, and I would definitely recommend them.

Summary: so cheap that you risk it!
