Advantages: cheap cheerful
Disadvantages: not many towels in room at check in
Many people turn their nose up at the Travelodge brand but I am not one of them. I have stopped at many branches of the chain and never really had a problem, the service has always been good, the rooms are relatively clean and you get a good bed.
As a student with friends up and down the country my main use of these hotels for leisure, a place to crash after a night out and have a bit of a party with friends before we go out.
The rooms are clean but basic,a family room normally consists of a double bed, a sofa, a desk and en-suite facilites such as a bath/shower and toilet.
The rooms are all reasonably tidy and clean and you get maid service everyday of your stay, no matter how late you rise out of your room, once you come back your room will be near on spotless!
There are however no complimentary items such as shampoos in the rooms and no hair dryer however if you ask at the reception they will get you one as long as there is some available and for free of charge.
I have always found the customer service to be good and the staff all friendly.
As much as i love these hotels i wouldn't pay a lot to stop in them, prices start at £9 and can rise up to around £150 in some places. I think i would pay a maximum of £80 a room if i was splitting it with 2 other people. Any more than that and i think you could find a better value hotel.
Summary: perfect place for a pre party and post party session
