Travelodge's are a no frills bargain basement place to stay, I think most people realise this, three stars would be top marks for any I've visited, the biggest plus point is when travelling with my wife and 3 children we can all stay for the room rate, the same can't be said for many of the other large hotel chains. The biggest minus is that Travelodge are, in my opinion, committing insurance fraud on a large scale. Their scam is simple, sell someone a room, offer them insurance in case of cancellation, let them pay for room and insurance then tell the customer that the insurance is invalid sue to the room rate paid! Errrrm, TRAVELODGE, YOU KNEW THE ROOM RATE WHEN YOU SOLD ME THE INSURANCE. DOH! FRAUD, SCAM, FOWL, THEFT, MISSLEADING, UNFAIR, PLAIN WRONG, WRONG, WRONG (All my opinion until I have had the Financial Services Ombudsman look at it). That said, You can have NO EXCUSE for deceiving your customers in this way, you know when you take OUR money that we can't use the product you're selling us, What else is that other than FRAUD, SCAM, FOWL, THEFT, MISSLEADING, UNFAIR, PLAIN WRONG, WRONG, WRONG? Travelodge I urge you to comment, come clean, stop robbing your customers, it's is a horrid way to run a business. For this reason I can give you no more that 1 star, to award more would be to condone your actions, as I obey the law I can not do that. Sort it out Travelodge, before you are force to and get a (hopefully) massive fine, widespread poor publicity and maybe loose your rights to offer financial products altogether.
