Advantages: Clean, Great Value, Conveniently Located
Disadvantages: None
I have been staying in Travelodges since I was a teenager and used to go away for the weekend with my parents. I always found them to be clean, conveniently located near to major roads and also with the added advantage of a Little Chef right next door. They have always been very easy to book. Previously, you simply rang a local rate number and spoke to a very friendly reservations clerk and booked the room with your credit card. The whole transaction used to take about 10 minutes tops. Now, it's even easier as you can book them on the 'net...again a fast system with instant availability and confirmation. I also had the experience of living in one for two months whilst my new house was being built. It was very bizarre in a way! But lovely in that all my bedding and towels were taken away and washed for me! Bliss! The room was also kept spotlessly clean, as were all the main areas within the lodge itself. The staff were very friendly and obliging and never tired of us when we needed to request more teabags and the like! Oh, and that's another lovely feature - full tea and coffee making facilities! And they have biccies! You also get a TV in the room, with the major channels along with a couple of satellite channels in selected lodges. You should check their website for up-to-date facilities though, as it is a while since I have stayed in one. And of course, you get an en-suite bathroom with a full bath, along with an over the bath shower. These again are spotlessly clean. There is plenty of hanging space (great when I actually resided in one!). You can comfortably fit a family in one of their family rooms which makes it great value for around £40 a night PER ROOM...as most hotels are based on a per person basis, this enables a great saving. Enjoy your stay!

- 10/04/03 Great Op
I like Travelodges too. I would have loved to stay at a hotel for 2 months(maybe even more!). The only thing is I would probably go to a Holiday Inn, Thistle, Marriott, Hilton, Moathouse ect. as they have more facilities. I would still love it in a Travelodge anyway. Having your sheets, duvets and towels replaced must be great!

- 26/09/01 2 months - that's gotta be grim. Personally I prefer Travel Inns, but lodges are great for odd nights. |
