I have used the travelodge site for a couple of years now, and until recently it always infuriated me that once you found a lodge you had to phone central reservations, and be put on hold for ages, before you could even check how much a night was going to cost and whether any rooms were available, let alone make a reservation.

Recently, however, online booking has been added to the site. Nevertheless, it is far from the best online reservation system I have used, but it is adequate.

You can check availability for a given hotel, and book online using credit card, which does appear to be secure.

The process of checking availability does seem to take longer than many others, and the website in general runs quite slowly. That said, at least online booking is now available, which is a definite bonus compared to previously.
