Travelodge (Leeds Central)
My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel about three times now and have never been disappointed.
It is in an excellent location right in the centre of everything, if you are arriving in to Leeds by train it is literally about a 2min walk from the train station. When you come out the station you turn right and walk down some steps leading you down to a large storey car park and just follow the road round and you will see the hotel. To walk to the shop centre it takes no more than 5 minutes, it is so easy.
If you are driving to the hotel parking is a little bit more difficult as it only has about 2 spaces outside the hotel so you will have to park in the storey car park next door which might be quite expensive, I have never drove there so I can't say.
Check in at the hotel is simple as always they just give you your key and you are on your way. It is a three storey hotel, I think every time we have stopped we have been on the second floor.
The rooms are your typical Travelodge rooms clean and spacious, double comfy bed, TV, bath/shower, toilet etc. One of our rooms was right next the train line and our window opened on to it but this wasn't a problem we didn't hear any noise at night but this might have been because we had our window closed, but even if it was open I think any noise would have been tolerable!
The bar/restaurant is small and does get quite busy around tea time but if you don't want to go out to eat you can get some nice reasonably priced food here. We have only ever eaten in this restaurant once but the food was nice I had a green thai curry which was lovely and my boyfriend had a burger which he said was nice and it did look really nice. We also had a couple of drinks with the meal and the final bill wasn't that much!
If you don't fancy going out for a meal anywhere and just want a take away you can ask at reception and they have tons of different take away menus (pizza, Chinese, Indian etc) and if you ring and let them know your hotel they deliver your order to the front desk and you can then take it to your room. I never realised this until I stopped in the Blackpool Travelodge and saw a notice about in our room. Some hotels are also letting you take food from the restaurant to your room now as well, I think they put a little take away symbol next to the items that can be taken away.
They have got loads of different vending machines throughout the hotel as well in case you get hungry in the middle of the night :) they stock drinks, chocolate, crisps, ice cream etc and hot chocolate sachets for the room but these are about £1.50 for one Cadburys sachet so very expensive! Take your own if you really want some!
We always book our rooms in the sale and get them for between £9.00 and £30.00 which is great for a night stopover, I know that sometimes they can charge about £60-65 for a one night stay and this is a little bit more pricey but this is mostly for Friday, Saturday nights because of drinking weekends etc.
Overall this hotel is great, it is in a fantastic location and you get exactly what you expect from a Travelodge hotel. The only down side is the parking but if you are getting a train then it doesn't matter!
Summary: Hotel with a great central location!
