Great value, clean and good location (Travelodge London City Road)

I booked a bargain room here and I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've stayed in a lot of hotel rooms and I am fussy, but I thought that the Travelodge was excellent.

My room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the service was good. My room did not have any views, but I suppose this meant that I had a peaceful sleep as I wasn't awoken by traffic.

The location was excellent, near to Old Street and Moorgate stations. There is a huge Marks & Spencer's close by if you need to take any food back to the room.

I did walk around the area during the night and it did feel pretty safe. It's on the main road which is well-lit and there are plenty of well-known City offices close by.

It's obviously not the Ritz, but good for what I needed. Would definitely stay here again.
