A bargain break.
We booked one of the £19 offer rooms in October due to visiting friends and family in the area.
The website booking is very straight forward and allows you to view other hotels close by to get the best location and price for your needs. The room booking is pre paid by credit or debit card and is not refundable, if you are in doubt over your dates and do not want to lose the money then do not book, as there is no way you will get your money back from the hotel. The hotel website states the hotel may be noisy over weekends but we did not experience and noise issues.
This hotel is in a central location behind shops like Gap, Primark and Next and coffee bars such as Costa a McDonalds, and The large Harlequin Shopping Centre. The hotel is about a five minute walk to Watford Station, which can get you into London in about 45 minutes.
There is a multi storey car park right next door, which we found competitively priced and quite secure during our stay. Though it is only open from 7am until 11pm, so if you are a late arrival or needing an early start it may not be ideal.
Reception was quick, polite and efficient and all our booking details, for a family room and breakfast for one morning were correct.
The hotel is clean and comfortable and fairly new, the decor and furnishings are not tired or damaged. There are 2 lifts to the various floors, and vending machines in the lobby area are a good idea for snacks drinks and water incase you need anything late at night, otherwise there are plenty of shops and a large Tesco within 5 minutes drive of the hotel.
The family room, while basic, served us well, it was clean, comfortable and well thought out, there were extra pillows available and tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
The bathroom had a powerful shower and plenty of towels. There are very few amenities such as shower gel conditioner etc, but as we always bring our own this is not an issue and for the price you exepct the minimum.
Our stay was very good and as all we required was a bed for the night at a reasonable price this really is unbeatable.
Breakfast exceeded my expectation, we booked online and our children were free ages (5 and 3) our breakfast was £6.95 each and consisted of a variety of cereal, hot items such as sausage, scrambled eggs, beans and fried bread, pastries, toast, jam, yogurt and fruit, with orange juice tea and coffee to drink. There was a plentiful supply and the dining area was clean and bright.
Checkout was straightforward and the staff were friendly and informative. Overall for the price I do not believe this can be beaten.
Summary: Book early for the offer rooms and you will not be dissapointed
