Advantages: modern luxury thats affordable
Disadvantages: can get very very busy
The village hotel & leisure club in warrington is part of the Village hotels chain. The Warrington hotel is one of the "Prem" hotels within the brand and has jsut undergone a massive 5 million pound refurbishment to all areas.
Brand new bedrooms with plasma TVs, iPod docking stations and other quirky little accessories are part of this refurbishment aswell as a brand new conference academy with new meeting rooms and a large cafe for the exclusive use of conference delegates.
There is a large leisure club which is open to both the public and hotel residents which has a pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fitness suites typical of those you would expect in a stand alone health club. The leisure club even has a cafe located just by it serving a selection of panninis, salads and hot/cold drinks.
The hotels bar "Victory Pub & Kitchen" often gets very busy particularly when there are football matches or boxing fights shown.
The "Verve Grill" is the hotel's restaurant and it serves a wide variety of different menu options to suit every taste, I think that the italian style flatbreads make a lovely starter to share and their hot rock grill selection which includes Steak, Salmon, Tuna and Ostrich is a quirky idea for a main course. Served on a volcanic rock that is heated to around 400 degrees the staff are keen to tell you of it's dangers but trust me the meat cooked on the rock tastes so much better than it would if you were to have the same meal with the meat grilled. All in all the experience we had in the restaurant was brilliant with a great range of home cooked food made from fresh ingredients served in a modern environment.
Most weekends there are tribute nights on in the hotel's "Inspiration Suite". These are brilliant and range from the likes of ABBA to Amy Winehouse, so there really is something for every taste. Your ticket to the tribute night includes a 3 course meal which is served to the table by friendly staff, a disco after the tribute act and a late bar until 1am... an absolute steal for £26.50 each!!!
The hotel also has a lovely health and beauty spa which provides a great range of different treatments to suit everybody from waxing to manicures and massages to spray tans.
All in all this hotel seems to be very busy and provides a lot of different services for both residents and the general public! A definate recommendation.
Summary: a wide range of facilities for everyone.
