Cardigan Cottages (New Quay) ... Cottages is a small family run concern and Andy & Sharon have two cottages: Pine Grove in Llanarth and Ger-y-llethi in Gilfachreda just outside New Quay town. We stayed recently in Ger-y-llethi and it was really spacious. On the warm evenings we had a barbeque outside and all the furniture and barbecue things are provided. The kitchen is great with all the utensils, pots and crockery you could need. The table inside is a bit of a squeeze for 6 but the kids often had dinner watching the Sky TV anyway. The conservatory was great on the one overcast day that we had. It was lovely and warm and we read the papers in there. The garden is great for the kids to pl... Best Western Waterloo Hotel and Lodge ( Wales) ... hotels and buildings that sit alongside a fast flowing ,mountain river with the famous Swallow Falls at the top end. A more recent block of shops and café s attract visitors from far and wide, most of whom arrive by coach and look close to death. You know the sort of thing, Darby and Joan days out. That is not to be scathing. They are the life-blood of the place. I am trying to conjure up an image of a place devoid of lap-dancing. We go there for a few reasons. 1. The kids love playing in the riv... Read the full review: Best western - Fistfull of Dollars? by hillcrestsan |

Castell Deudraeth (Portmeirion) ... ll start by saying that this is definitely, comprehensively the very best hotel I have ever stayed in. I felt rich, rich I tell ya. Everything - setting, room, food, wife was top class and I would recommend it fiercely. Where is it? * I ll tell you now. Castell Deudraeth is one of the two hotels in the decidedly weird attraction of Portmeirion. This can be found in the Snowdonia National Park, approximately 5.37miles away from the bustling town of Porthmadog and about 15 miles away from the gorgeous little village of Beddgelert. That s a plug for a review of it s campsite I haven t done yet. It can be approached from the south but I have never gone that way. It is sign...
