When hubby and I had to travel to Bridgwater in Somerset on a business trip, my first job was to check out hotels. Having googled the area, I came up with The Walnut Tree, a three star Best Western Hotel. Although there were several hotels in the area, this was the only one that met with our criteria of having a car park and somewhere to eat. I rang the hotel and was given the price of £127 for an Executive double room which included breakfast. From the outside, the hotel resembles a large pub. Best Western Walnut Tree Hotel, North Petherton. We where recently invited to a 30th wedding anniversary at the West India House Pub. We booked a room at the Walnut and so I thought I would write a review on its location and facilities. Location: ******* The hotel is set about three miles from the India house pub and both are in and around Bridgwater. The Hotel is in the heart of Somerset. If you are visiting around the Taunton area I can recommend the Walnut Tree Hotel in North Petherton which lies on the A38 between Taunton and Bridgwater. Like many village hotels it is a former coaching house that has been extended over the years to become a substantial hotel. During my recent stay I found the staff very helpful and attentive. The rooms are well above average size being spacious, light and clean. As well as the spacious en-suite there was tea and coffee making facilities for you to use.
