Advantages: Warm welcome, Quiet location, Superb Breakfast.

Disadvantages: Slightly away from Town Centre

I stayed in the Whitworth Falls Hotel on June 23rd 2008 for one night and must say that I found nothing but positives with the establishment.

The hosts were most friendly and welcoming.

The single room I stayed in was large, with 2 comfortable single beds and like the en-suite facilities, spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee and buscuits are laid out for guests, with TV set included.

The Hotel is just a few hundred yards north of the main Town Centre in a most pleasant street a few seconds away from the Promenade, which is a lovely walk. There is not the hussle and bustle you may find in the absoulute centre of Southport town centre, and this ensured a very peaceful stay, with no traffic or revellers to be heard anywhere.

The first class english breakfast was served very promptly and believe me, it's a big 'un.

I stayed at this hotel on my way to Liverpool and found it an ideal base instead of Liverpool City Centre itself as Southport is so accesable by a very regular train service (every 15 minutes).

The price was so reasonable, and the value for money proclaimed on the Hotel website is true to it's word.

I can highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Southport, Liverpool or surrounding areas.

Summary: Excellent value for money in this well run establishment.

It should be noted that I have discovered that the hotel's owners will require a deposit to secure a room and that this deposit is non-refundable! Beware!
