Last year, we decided to holiday in this country during the summer holidays, and surfed the Smoothhound accommodation site just a month before we were due to go! We decided on the Peak District, because neither of us had ever been there before. We picked half a dozen likely looking B&Bs and emailed for tariffs and availability. I had already picked this one (Woodside) as my favourite, and was delighted when the proprietor emailed back within a couple of hours, with a vacant room for the dates we required. One or two emails later, and Kath and myself were on first name terms! We were also booked in for 6 nights in August, with just a £15 per person deposit. ...
