It is possible to walk from the cottage, but if you prefer not to climb, you can park the car at the entrance, and walk along the Peak Trail, mingling with the cattle as you go! Last year, we decided to holiday in this country during the summer holidays, and surfed the Smoothhound accommodation site just a month before we were due to go! We decided on the Peak District, because neither of us had ever been there before. We picked half a dozen likely looking B&Bs and emailed for tariffs and availability. I had already picked this one (Woodside) as my favourite, and was delighted when the proprietor emailed back within a couple of hours, with a vacant room for the dates we required.
