1001 Carpet Fresh
Having recently read a shake n vac review on here it came to me that this is something that I clearly do not do enough... So I went on a mission to find something to freshen up my carpets... (Anything to delay hoovering for that little while longer - haha)...
I happily discovered this product in poundland, in the winter spice scent on the packaging we're told this is a limited edition, and this shows up apples, and cinnamon sticks. Having a candle on the go that is also apple and cinnamon scented I though this would be a nice mix in my front room...
The tube has 400g in it, and a blue lid that will turn to allow a 'pour' function, or a 'sprinkle' function. The package does require you to push down on a clearly marked section to break the seal, and I found this very easy - using a screwdriver (I think that if you used a finger it may bend / break a nail). I have to admit when administering the product I didn't notice much difference between the two options, but I always find it fun to shake it around... The back of the packaging says to sprinkle it from about 15 inches above the carpet, and then shake from side to side, and then hoover it all up.
Well sprinkling it over my front room was fun enough, then came the hard work - clearing it up... It took me a little longer to hoover as some of the white powder took a little getting up - but we're not talking very much longer maybe two minutes across the front room and hall way.
I did leave the product for about five minutes even though the packaging didn't say anything about this, I just thought it would leave more time for the scent and deodorising properties to work their magic...
Well the carpet obviously looks fluff free - but I'd say this was thanks to the hoover itself, and the room does smell a little sweeter... I haven't sprayed anything or lit a candle for a few days, and this seems to have helped the 'fusty' smell of a house that is in the middle of winter... I'm still opening windows to get air through but not as often as I would in summer so this really is a welcome bit of freshness.
I do have one criticism though - it doesn't go very far, it managed my from room, and maybe half of my tiny hallway, so stock up if you're planning to do the whole house.
I would definitely recommend this as it was cheaper than the shake n vac product that I saw and the scent is to me preferable to the scent of the summer berries version that I also picked up.
Summary: Well worth the pound I paid
