Advantages: Fresh smell
Disadvantages: Can come out in clumps
I use this every so often when I want to add a fresh smell to the carpets. Sometimes, I just can't be bothered to get the Vax out and do the whole washing thing, and thankfully I don't have many carpets, so it's not a huge issue.
**What is it?***
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's actually marketed as a foam carpet freshener which eliminates odours by breaking them down and eliminating them.
The product comes in a 300ml spray aerosol can, and since mine is spring rain, there is a rather pretty picture of wet grass!
Spray the can and out comes the foam...careful at this point because whilst cans usually have the spray bit to the side, this is on the top, so one wrong move and you've been foamed!
The foam is white and comes out in a kind of spray which has to be directed at the carpet! It has a floral kind of smell. I'm not quite sure what spring rain smells like, but I think this smells a bit like lily of the valley.
**How do I use it?**
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I said, it's basically a simple spray can. Shake it well before you use it, because if you don't it comes out in clumps, not a fine mist. Then, simply hold the can and press the tab whilst moving the can in a side to side motion so that all the bits of carpet you want covered with the foam are covered.
After about 5 minutes the freshened areas are dry and the foam has completely disappeared.
**Price and Availability**
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is widely available and costs around £2.20.
Should you don't want your house to smell like summer rain, then try summer flower or gentle breeze; the latter sounds interesting. What does a gentle breeze smell of? i would have though it would depend on the direction and the smells it was carrying. Could be quite unpleasant!
**Warnings**
~~~~~~~~~~
Extremely flammable!
Obviously, there are the other warings, such as don't swallow it etc, but if used as directed, it is safe to use around children and pets. Just don't spray it onto the fire!

**What I Think**
~~~~~~~~~~~~
For an instant fresh smell, i do like this, especially if we have had people round and there has been lots of tramping about the place. I'm not sure if the odours are actually broken down and destroyed as I can't actually see this taking effect.
It is easy to use but do shake it before each use or you will get clumps of the stuff. i spray it on the curtains and the carpets and have not hnoticed any adverse effects, such as shrinkage or discolouration. The foam disappears and dries quickly, but I think for the best effect, it should be sprayed after hoovering, although it can be used without having hoovered first.
If you are looking for a quick freshener, then this could be good. It doesn't leave a heavy overpowering smell, as some air fresheners do, and if it really does eliminate rather than mask odours, then I'm all for that!
Going to have to try the Gentle Breeze...
Thanks for reading
