Inspire Collection Jewelled Tealight Holder
by xxfoxyredxx
If you are my friend on Facebook you will notice that I have a pair of these, one on my new coffee table and one of my windowsill in my living room at the moment! My Mother bought me two of these when I lived in my last flat as a Christmas present to put on two windowsills in my then living room but then I moved to a flat with only one ... windowsill in the living room so I actually have one two many...never mind!
I am pretty sure that these came in plain carboard boxes with all the bits and bobs wrapped safely in bubble wrap, they came from Argos though are available from online sellers if you care to take a look.
What You Get:
One tealight holder comes with a sturdy base and then the second part that easily and securely twists in is a long thin piece with a candelabra effect look of crystals hanging over the base to the top of it. Those plastic beads are clear and act as droplets and come on 6 stems and each one has 3 different pieces of plastic droplets on them. The tealight holders themselves are black in colour as is everything else and is in a matt finish and there are four of those and hanging off them are four sets of two plastic droplets. The tealight holders themselves are simply clear glass and are removable for ease of cleaning and are quite deep so give off a nice effect when you have a tealight burning in them.
Its simple to clean this with the glass holders being removable though you do have to be careful washing and drying them as they are glass of course but they are quite thick and not easy to break...though go easy on them of course! I dust the whole thing over with a clean cloth only to keep it in tip top condition.
I love my holders though as my Mother bought me them. They are secure once put together, light to move about and easy to keep looking pristine which is always a good thing with such on ornate item of course. The glass holders on mine, even though used often hasn't gone sooty or messy looking. I do think close on these look a bit cheap looking though but from a distance look rather expensive so just stop people getting too close to them is my best advice, its just a shame that the droplets are not real glass in my opinion!
My Mum paid £10.00 each for these in Argos when they were on offer though a quick look at the Argos website just tells me they are are a whopping £19.99 each, they are pretty but I don't think that is a good price for them I'm afraid and I wouldn't pay that....we're back to the plastic droplet argument I'm afraid!

Willow Tree Collection
by CosmicLove
I love buying new things for around my home to make it all the more cosy and family orientated, & when I came across the Willow Tree figurines on Amazon I knew straight away that I wanted one!
In the end after a lot of browsing, I decided to buy two - one for me & my fiancé, and one for my mum. The one that I chose for ... me and my fiancé is the 'Our Gift' figurine. We have a beautiful little boy together and this just really stood out to me and made me feel really proud of my little family.
It is a mother a father cradling and looking down at their small baby. It sounds bizarre because the figures are completely faceless, but you can just kind of sense the love and proudness and it makes me feel really happy and content when I look at it. The one that I bought for my Mum for Mother's Day was of course the mother and daughter figurine which is the only one that I thought was suitable.
I'm 19 and the figurine shows the mother with a little girl but I knew she'd like it still and I thought it might bring back some memories of when I was younger & all the amazing times we had! I was pondering on the idea of buying her the Promise figurine which shows a man and woman very much in love so that she could share it with my dad but seeing as it was Mother's Day I thought the mother & daughter one would be best.
I have had my Our Gift figurine for almost two weeks and it has really fitted in well with my living room, it looks gorgeous on our mantle piece and is very eye catching but it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. The colouring is subtle and gentle so it will fit in with any living room design I think. The figurine cost me £29 (full retail price is £36) and you can tell that it is expensive, it looks like its been hand carved and is really special looking. If I could afford it I would buy more but the price and the lovely, unique design make it feel really special.
Cleaning the figurine is really easy and a damp cloth does the job but it really doesn't attract dust and because it sits on our mantle piece it is out of the way and so it doesn't really get dirty. It is very well made and durable and it stands on the mantle piece sturdily, it doesn't wobble or fall over or anything as it has a bit of weight to it.
All in all, the willow tree figurines are amazing. The detailing is really nice and the overall look is just beautiful! The quality is amazing and I will be treasuring this figurine for a long time. My mum loves hers too and nearly cried when I gave it to her! Read the complete review |

Sainsburys Basics Tealights
by kat1234
I tend to go through phases when I am really into candles and home scenters and therefore, I have several half-used packs of candles tucked in cupboards around my house. One of those that I own is a pack of 100 basic tealights from Sainsburys. I purchased these about 18 months ago in Sainsburys for around £3, which I felt pretty good ... value for 100 lights. I did not see the need to purchase anything other than basic candles as they seemed much of a muchness to me!
The candles came in a sealed plastic bag with the basic labelling on. This can be ripped open to access the candles which are all loose inside. The candles are as you would expect from tealights - they have a silver metal base which is filled with white wax and a white wick. There is only a slight scent of wax when opening the bag - they are not fragranced. Despite the packaging being very basic, I found all the tealights inside to be in good condition - none were loose from their casing or battered in anyway. They looked good too, the metal casing well filled with wax.
The lights are easy to light with a match or lighter and once lit, remain lit until you blow them out. They burn well and I would say that they last for 2-3 hours of burning which is pretty good value. A bag of these lasts a long while (especially if you go through phases when you use these and then don't like me!) so I think that they are tremendous value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend them. They are always handy to have in the house! Read the complete review |
