Febreze Aerosol Caribbean Paradise Air Freshener
by cornishchic
My daily household cleaning regime air freshener as I think it just gives the house a nice, clean fresh scent as opposed to cleaning products and chemicals. I'm going through a Febreze phase at the moment and one of the air fresheners I've used recently is this Caribbean paradise one.
The air freshener is quite widely ... available to purchase from supermarkets and a 300ml can usually costs around the £2 mark. It's worth noting that there are a few different fragrances in this range, not just Caribbean paradise.
The can for this one is the same shape as the rest of the range being cylinder for the majority of it and gradually getting thinner at the top where the trigger is. The trigger is long enough to fit a couple of fingers over it, it isn't as long as cleaner trigger sprays but it is still easy to pull back. It has quite a vibrant blue colour to it meaning it stands out on the shelf compared to the more neutral coloured air freshener cans.
After pulling the trigger a fine mist appears from the end, it does tend to linger for quite a while whilst floating down. For that reason, I tend to spray away from the direction I'm going to be walking in as it isn't very pleasant walking through the air freshener. The Caribbean paradise name indicates that the scent is going to have a Caribbean twist to it and it's not wrong. I would explain the scent as a mix between coconut and pineapple; it definitely has a fruity twist to it.
I spray my whole house with this, starting upstairs and working my way down. The air freshener does give a nice smell for a while, it takes away the horrible cleaning smell and leaves behind a fruity smell that starts off quite prominent. The only problem I have with this air freshener is that it doesn't last very long and within three quarters of an hour the fruit scent has disappeared. However, once the scent has gone, it doesn't reveal the horrible smells that it was sprayed over as Febreze has a special formula that claims to eliminate nasty odours rather than just masking them and it lives up to the claims it makes.
The air freshener is quite expensive for one where the scent doesn't linger for very long. That being said, I would still recommend it as it does get rid of unwanted odours and smells lovely when it's first sprayed. Read the complete review |

Febreze Aerosol Caribbean Paradise Air Freshener
by m_illie
I like to have a lot of nice candles and aerosols around the house to spray whenever there's a musty smell about. Usually to counteract this we open the windows and doors and air out the house as it were, but in the winter months when I'm already spending a ridiculous amount on heating and having to wrap up in lots of layers to keep the ... thermostat down low, I don't really want to open up any doors or windows if not entirely necessary. It just seems like a waste and in times like this comes Febreze.
Febreze is a very popular aerosol brand that you'll probably be familiar with from their many adverts which often feature people excessively smelling random items like pillows and sofas to show just how great they smell. As they explain in the adverts, Febreze claims to remove the odour and combine it with a light new fragrance rather than masking the smell.
The air freshener comes in a blue aerosol can. There is an excessive amount of flowers which made me think this aerosol would be less light and airy than their other product, particularly because other designs are usually pastel colours with a white accent however this wasn't the case so perhaps I shouldn't judge a product based purely on the design. Although in fairness as the product is 'Caribbean Paradise' the colours do resemble this and looks nice and tropical.
The can works by pushing down on a lever to release the fragrance. It is distributed evenly and if you hold on for a few seconds you get enough to fill the room/area with a lovely light smell. I would describe it as a coconut smell and you really get the sense it is tropical. It is light and not too overpowering although you must be careful not to spray too much as more than about 3 clicks will really fill the room with the fragrance.
It lasts a reasonable amount and having been using it every day or so, it still lasted the month. I got a lot of use out of this and really enjoyed the fragrance. The can has 300ml and you can feel the weight of the fragrance in the can. This is also useful as you can feel when you're running low and after shaking well you still have quite a bit left over for use.
Overall this is an excellent product. It really does get rid of all the bad smells in the room. A single spurt of the can will fill the room with a really nice scent of the tropic and you don't need to push the trigger too many times to adequately replace bad smells. Its cheap at only £2.00 and lasts for a reasonably long time also so you do get a lot for your money. The dispenser is really easy to use and also doesn't leak so you get the perfect amount whenever you spray. Read the complete review |

Febreze Thai Orchid Air Freshener
by trayrope
I am not a big user of air fresheners; I only ever have two air fresheners in use at a time in the house, one in each bathroom to help mask those inevitable bathroom smells. So when I spotted some money off vouchers for Febreze available to print from supersavvyme I printed them off and popped them in my purse to use later in the week at ... Tesco.
Once in Tesco I was happy to find that Febreze air fresheners were on offer, so combining my vouchers with Tesco's offer I managed to snag two Febreze air fresheners, one at a £1 and the other at 50p.
The one I am reviewing today is Febreze Thai Orchid, this air freshener usually retails for around £3. In my opinion £3 is a lot to pay for a can of air freshener. The can looks like the one pictured above. The reason I picked this one above the others available was that it was pink; there genuinely is no other reason.
After bragging to my Husband about my air freshener bargains I placed one in each bathroom to await use. Eventually the inevitable happened and I heard the flush of the toilet followed by a damp squirting noise, a lot different to the quite abrasive noise my previous cans of air freshener made.
A short while later I decided to test the effectiveness of the air freshener, I tentatively pushed the bathroom door open and bravely inhaled. All I could smell was the sweet floral scent left behind from the air freshener, no nasty pong. The Thai Orchid scent does not smell as I would expect orchids to smell, it is very sweet and perfumed. The air freshener lingers in the air for quite a while and I could detect the scent in the bathroom for many hours after it had been sprayed.
The design of the can is quite different to usual air freshener cans; it has a trigger mechanism to release the air freshener. I found the trigger mechanism very easy to control; I felt I had more control over the amount of air freshener sprayed than usual. The directions are to hold can upright, pull trigger back and spray the air in a sweeping motion. When this is done the air freshener releases a steady mist of tiny perfumed droplets, these droplets inevitably fall towards the ground, despite watching closely I have never seen the droplets land and can only assume they fully disperse into the air before making contact with any surfaces.
The initial burst of air freshener is very strong, but it does not make me cough, it soon dissipates into the background and becomes a subtle scent and does not smell overly artificial like some cheaper air fresheners. While I would not use the Febreze air freshener to scent my whole house (My house smells clean due to the fact I clean it) I am more than happy to use it in the bathroom and at the extremely slow rate at which we get through air freshener I am glad I like it as it will be in use for a year or more.
As with all household cleaning products it is advised to keep it out of reach of children and to rinse thoroughly if it gets in eyes. As this is a pressurised container it should not be pierced, burnt or exposed to temperatures above 50c, and finally the warning that always makes me smile, this product does not replace good hygiene practices!!
In conclusion I think Febreze Thai Orchid is a great scent, it eliminates odours and leaves behind a subtle floral scent. The 300ml size air freshener should last me absolutely ages and I feel it was a bargain at a £1 but would not be happy paying the £3 rrp.
