Tesco Value Paper Plates
by user789
Introduction:
I hate washing up after in inviting family over so my solution is simple..... simple cheap Tesco disposable plates, that do not cleaning, do not need maintaining and are easy to dispose.
They cost £1 as would be expected from such a simple product that comes with absolutely no luxuries. You get 50 plates for ... your pound. So doing the maths you are paying 2p per plate. Reasonable? that is exactly what I think, as I would happily exchange £1 for not having to clean countless amounts of plates.
The quality of the plates is also quite impressive as the plates are made of a tough card material that can pretty much hold any kind of solid food. I am also pleased with the strength of the card as it does not flow uncontrollably when holding a good amount of food. The size of the plates is good enough to hold a decent sized adult meal (however, I do sometimes find myself using more than one plate a person). As clear from the name these plates do not have sufficient depth for any kind of liquid as it will simply spill, so I would not recommend this for soup what so ever!!! :-)
They are primarily disposable so I do not think they would be of any use after one use as they are not washable and it would be difficult to clean without using water.
Overall, I would recommend this product simply because they do the job without any problems (no tearing and ripping during use) + plus I personally buy them every time I have an occasion. Read the complete review |

Tesco Party Poppers
by user789
I bought these while I was shopping around for my brothers 8th birthday at tesco. I was not planning to get party popper but my brother insisted on them as he thought they would add effect before eating the cake. I did not want to disappoint him so I said..... OKAY.
These cost around £2.50 as I remember for 50 individual ... party poppers. When it comes to buying party poppers your not going to be looking for a major saving, as your only going to be buying them once or twice a year. They come in a see through plastic packing that is quite simple as it shows you all the poppers and their condition. However, the plastic is very weak so damage can occur to the poppers before you even purchase them. I personally do not find this a major problem however I think it is worth mentioning.
All you have to do is pull the string quickly and watch the colourful strands of paper shoot out of the "bottle" with a sudden and slightly loud BANG. I would advice to tell children not to aim at each other as they do shoot very quickly and so the paper lid could injure someone's eye.
The strands of paper are not the greatest colours I have ever seen as they are slightly dull in sense that you would ideally expect them to be vibrant or bright, but they are not. Still the kids loved them. The shape of the poppers is the ideal shape of a bottle that has been the classic for many years, In my they should stay like this for ever!
Out of the fifty only around 3 or 5 did not work properly so these party poppers are not getting a five star rating.
Overall, these party poppers are great fun for the kids during a birthday party. I can not see why you would not buy them for just a few pounds. Read the complete review |

Tesco Value Platters
by 2012Saver
We have quite a large family so at many family gatherings the food is served buffet style, so everyone can help themselves. At such events we regularly use these Tesco Value Platters to serve the food on. These platters are only available at Tesco and are part of their "value" budget range.
These platters come in a ... pack of 5 and they cost £2.50, working out at 50p per piece. They are oval in shape and quite large in size. The platters aren't anything special to look at. They are made of foil and they are kind of embossed and have a textured feel. To make them look a bit prettier at parties we will often place coloured napkins on them before putting the food on top.
The foil is reasonably sturdy and the platters hold a decent amount of food - approx 25-30 sandwich triangles to give you an idea of amounts.. We regularly fill these with sandwiches, cocktail sausages and other party nibbles. The platters can withstand the weight of food well and are easy enough to carry when full. They do not become out of shape or bent even when filled with food. The edges of the platters are raised which makes carrying them when full a little bit easier. At Christmas time in work we had a party and I brought some food in on one of these platters and I found that the platter was easily transported in my car and didn't become damaged in any way.
A big advantage of these platters is that they are re-usable. I am not sure whether or not Tesco actually intend them to be reusable but we have found that if you give them a good wash in hot soapy water they hold their shape well and stay as good as new. I have found that you can get away with re-using these about 3-4 times before they start to lose their shape a bit, at which point we chuck them out and buy new ones.
These platters are really cheap at the price of £2.50 for a pack of 5, especially considering they can be used more than once. They are so useful for serving food to large groups of people. I can't really think of any disadvantages of these and for this reason I am giving them a 5 star rating. I hope you have found this review useful, and thanks for reads/rates.
