Wilko Everyday Value Pillows
by FridaysArePurple I bought a set of these Wilko Every Day Value Pillows about a year and a half ago as I found myself in need of some extra pillows. I came across these when browsing around in a Wilkinsons store. They come in a pack of 2 and the current price listed for them on the Wilkinsons website is £2.94 which, as far as I can remember, is what I ... paid for mine in the shop. I always have a preference for synthetic pillows as feather ones rustle around too much for my liking and I also know people with feather allergies so I think synthetic are always better to have for guests too. These pillows are perfect in that respect as they are hypoallergenic. The cover is 100% polypropylene and the pillow filling is 100% hollow fibre polyester which means that they are completely machine washable which is always a useful feature. The two pillows come packaged together in plastic and at first I was unsure whether there could actually be two pillows in there as it didn't seem a big enough package. It turns out they come tightly rolled and after a bit of plumping up, they get their shape back and are ok to use. I think that they are quite bouncy pillows. Instead of using both of them together, I usually use a different, flatter pillow underneath and put one of these on top which works nicely for me. The only slight dislike I have about these pillows is that they seem to be slightly smaller than what I would call a "normal pillow". In other words, they don't seem to fill out my pillowcases as much as other pillows do in terms of length and width so if you are fussy about that kind of thing, it is worth bearing in mind. The website lists the dimensions as 46cm x 71cm if anyone is interested in such essential pillow stats! Considering they are under £3, I think these pillows are a bargain. They are obviously not the plumpness or quality of the pillows in John Lewis but they are a much more reasonable price. I'm sure these will not suit everybody as some will prefer to spend the extra money on getting something for their exact tastes but if you are not a pillow fuss-pot or you just need some spares for a spare bed or taking camping etc then these are a good cheap buy. All these ever claim to be are value pillows so on that basis I will rate them 4 stars (one deducted because there is no reason they can't be slightly larger to fit pillowcases better). Wilko Everyday Value Pillows
by louisechackett Back in 2009 when my husband and I split up I left needing to buy pretty much everything again. When I set up my bed on the first night in my new house I realised that I didn't like the look of just pillows on "my" side of the bed and so I popped one of mine on the other side of the bed. When I started seeing someone though ... it turned out that he was a total fussy bugger and liked three pillows to sleep with and so I ended up purchasing a pack of two Wilko every day value pillows so boost his side of the bed! The pillows cost just a few pounds and having had a quick look on the Wilkinson's website I can confirm they currently cost just £2.96. The pillows come packed in a basic looking plastic wrap and are rolled inside to make them more compact for carrying. The fact that the packaging is basic is of course going to be the case as they are really cheap pillows but in all honesty you don't really need a fancy packaging for a pillow which will be taken out of the pack and popped on the bed! Inside the pack you get two pillows making them just short of £1.50 each. As these pillows were going to be used as the bottom two pillows on the bed with a more expensive feather pillow on top I wasn't at all worried about them being cheap. They are filled with a polyester hollow fibre filling and have a 100% polypropylene cover. I always place pillows in a pillow case anyway so again I wasn't too worried about them being a cheap pillow. To lie on the pillows you can of course tell that they aren't expensive down pillows or anything but this doesn't mean that they are uncomfortable! They do go quite flat when you lie on them but this was something that my boyfriend at the time preferred and it is actually something my son prefers too and he has since pinched one of these pillows off my bed to have on his bed! I do like my feather pillow as it is a bit more sturdy and supports my neck better I find but in terms of a second pillow or a pillow for a child I think these are actually really good quality. The pillows are a standard size really and are machine washable. I have only washed these a couple of times but they fit in to the machine well as they are quite flat and they wash up well and do not bobble or go misshapen as long as you give them a good shake and plump them properly when you get them out of the wash. I think these are a perfectly reasonable cheap pillow if you want quite a flat pillow or one which will sit under your regular pillow. I particularly think these pillows are well suited to children as they are quite flat and so do not elevate the neck in to an awkward position. I am happy enough with my purchase and would probably buy more of these if I needed them in the future but only in terms of being an extra pillow or for my son as I don't think they are of good enough quality or supportive enough to be used as a main pillow for an adult personally. Wilko Everyday Value Pillows
by xxfoxyredxx With not being the most of well of people I tend to spend a lot of my time in my bed. I sleep a lot due to suffering with m.e and have a spine condition which makes it sore for me even to sit sometimes so my bed tends to be the most comfortable place for me to be and I sit and write reviews from here as well as watch dvds and the ... likes. I have always spent a lot of money on bedding particularly pillows as I go for branded ones that are memory ones and ones meant and designed for back problems usually. However just recently as I always do I had a major kick out of things as I'm moving very soon and want new, fresh things to take with me. My pillows looked a bit grubby and due to them being memory foam and that I chose to kick them out. I've never had a lot of luck washing pillows anyway and simply couldn't see the point of doing it and so off I went to my local Wilkinson store with my mate after she told me about these pillows she has on her children's beds. These came in simple white and bright yellow plastic packaging and on the front of them we are told what they are on so on and then on the back of pack contact details for Wilkinson's are given. The measurements are also give for the pillows of which you get two of them and both had a height of 46cm and width of 71cm and are none allergenic and made from: Cover 100% polypropylene; filling 100% polyester hollow fibre. The Pillows: Well these came rolled up within the pack but I lay them flat and they went back to normal shape very quickly indeed. They have like a paper cover on them and are filled with like a white cotton like material that looks a bit like cotton wool though this material is a bit patchy and clumped and so not all that evenly spread throughout the pillow. They are not thick these pillows and ok if you don't mind thin pillows, me I found them way to thin and my head almost on my mattress so I popped two pillows into protectors and a pillowslip and they fitted in fine there so that shows just how thin these are in my opinion. These are washable on a 40c wash though personally I wouldn't dream of doing that with these as they are not the best of quality and at only £2.97 a pair, in my opinion your better off and its less hassle to throw them out and just buy more. These are ok in my opinion with two used together and in this case you simply get what you pay for and nothing more than that. They serve their purpose well enough for me and are not a bad buy in my opinion and probably best for a spare bed sort of thing and me well when these have had it I won't be buying them again as I prefer something more plump and supportive to my head!
