Advantages: Smells gorgeous, easy to use, long lasting, cheap to run.

Disadvantages: The packaging is a nightmare to get into.

In the winter I find that my home tends to harbour smells much more so than in the summer when the windows are open all the time and for that reason I like to have an air freshener of some sort around, recently when I was in my local Asda I came across this Air Wick duo that had 2 bottles of fragrance plus the unit for just £1.25 instead of the usual £7.99, it was worth me buying this rather than replacing the glass bottle in my original unit as this cost around the £3.30 mark so a bit of a saving, I also got a £1 off coupon inside the packaging which I was chuffed with.

The air freshener comes packages in a plastic pack that is a nightmare to get into, I had to use a mixture of cutting, pulling and fearing for my fingers until it finally came apart, I would much rather that there was plastic casing that was then backed onto cardboard as it's so much easier to get into than these new all plastic casings. I do understand that it may help deter shoplifting and the like but even so beware!! Once you do manage to get inside you're pretty much set.

The unit itself is white in colour and it does stay this colour, I have been using mine almost a month now and there has been no discolouration and I don't expect any either, I have used many units in the past and none of them have become unsightly looking. On the underside is the space for 2 bottles of fragrance to go in, the packaging advises us that any Air Wick bottles can be used in these units, I haven't tried it yet as I haven't had to replace the bottles but I hope it's true as it means you can go for the cheaper options rather than being forced to buy the more expensive offerings. On top of the unit are 2 doughnuts that are pale blue in colour, these are the controls for the fragrance and how much is released at any given time. These are very simple to use, you simply twist to the right for more fragrance and left for a more subtle offering. I have mine set on the first setting in an attempt to make the bottles that came with the unit last longer. The bottles that are supplied are smaller than the bottles that come with other units and unlike the others the bottle slot in sideways. I had to remove the plastic cap by simply unscrewing it and then pushing the white stick into the hole and it clicks in place, it took seconds and I have had no problems with it not being strong enough or falling out. The plug itself fits easily into my standard plug socket, with the unit being a bit bigger than others available it is bulkier and doesn't fit seamlessly into the room but it's not so big that it's ugly and automatically noticeable, I think it looks quite nice actually. As the bottles are transparent it is easy to see how much of the fragrance is left which is a nice feature.

The packaging doesn't tell you how much electricity this unit uses but I have had it on 24/7 for the last month or there abouts and I haven't noticed any significant difference in my electricity consumption so it can't be using that much. The fragrances last a decent amount of time as I say I have had mine a month or so now and it still has the original bottles attached and there is around 1/4 left in each one. I have had it on the lowest setting for most of the time as I found my home smelt gorgeous all the time with this setting and any more I felt would have been too overpowering. I was supplied with lavender and vanilla bean, the lavender isn't so detectable but the vanilla bean is delicious it is divine! I am not a huge fan of vanilla fragrances but this one is so nice, it's subtle yet powerful and it's not in any way artificial smelling like can sometimes be the case. I like personally that once these fragrances have run out I will have the opportunity to purchase my favourite scents. I also have to add in that I thought the fragrances were released in harmony but after reading a review on here a while ago I found out that actually the fragrances are switched although I can't say I notice this as my house always smells of the vanilla bean one at the moment. To buy airwick refills they can often be bought on a 2 for £6 deal which means that to fragrance the majority of my home with it being very open plan only costs me £6 per month which I think is an excellent deal. I would never have picked up this unit had it not been on sale and I really wish I had picked up another, even if it was just for the refills as it would still have been cheaper.

I would advise anyone to give this unit a go, it's easy to use, long lasting and it smells divine. Alongside this the scents are pretty long lasting and you have the option of choosing double packs of pre-chosen scents or you can pick 2 of your own favourites from the other Air Wick varieties to make your own combination. I think for £7.99 it is a bit costly but for the price I paid it was most definitely a bargain!

Summary: An excellent unit from Airwick that keeps my home smelling lovely.
