“ Brand: Argos / Type: Christmas Tree / Height: 6ft „
This year I was determined to make my house really Christmassy and I wanted it to feel festive throughout. We have a large hallway and I was determined to have another decorated tree in the hall but I didn't want to spend too much on a tree which was going to be in the hall and used for a month maximum per year but I wanted something decent which would last so the search was on.
After finally finding my desired tree at Homebase I asked my other half to order it online and when he eventually got around to it, it had sold out. However, after looking in Argos I found exactly the same tree and at the same reduced price and they were in stock so off we went to pick it up! The 6ft Luxury Majestic Christmas Tree was the tree of choice as it is green, not too tall for the hall but the picture sold it for me in the catalogue!
** What Argos Say **
"This luxurious, 6 foot Christmas tree provides the perfect backdrop for your festive celebrations this year. Dress this majestic tree with a combination of Christmas decorations, tinsel, twinkling lights and shiny baubles for a breathtaking focal point in your home this Christmas."
** Packaging **
It came in a compact slim cardboard box which can be easily stored in the garage or loft which is ideal. It can also fit in most cars which is great if you cannot access an estate car or van!
** Assembling The Tree **
The tree doesn't come pre-made so to speak. As soon as you open the box you are faced with plenty of tree branches in a variety of sizes, two pieces which make up the trunk of the tree and the base which again needs assembling. Even though there are plenty of pieces to assemble it is incredibly easy. You do however have an instruction sheet which is easy to read.
The branches as I said are all a variety of sizes but they do come colour coded with a letter for where it should go on the trunk. The two trunk pieces simply slot in together and as you will see around the trunk there are the colours and letters which match the branches. Simply slot the branches into the correct colour/letter and the tree is nearly ready! You do need to make sure the branches have been slotted in properly so they are not too loose and wobbly as I found out they don't all slot in perfectly and you need to give them a little wiggle and they just slot in properly.
Once the branches are all securely in you just need to start to spread the smaller branches to make the tree actually look like a tree! This is incredibly easy but it is time consuming especially if you want to make the tree look as good as it possibly can! The smaller branches are made up of thin incredibly bendable wire so spreading the branches is incredibly simple and they will bend into whatever position you want them in!
The tree is incredibly easy to construct and can easily be done without the instructions! The base is made of metal and again slots together and can be secured with the small screws it comes with. The base is simple in design but can easily support the tree which isn't too heavy when fully assembled.
Once fully constructed the tree is a perfect triangle shape and once the branches are out and spread properly it looks like a lovely tree. The tree doesn't look as full as the one in the picture which I think is a tad misleading but it isn't a bare tree if done properly. There are enough small branches on the larger branches and this ensures you can't see the slim trunk.
On my tree there are around 100 decorations which seem to be just enough to make it look like an evenly covered tree without any patches that are without decoration. For the lights I have around 240 which again give quite a bit of light but evenly cover the tree but obviously this all depends on how each person decorates their tree!

** Price and Availability **
I bought my tree at Argos and it is still on the website should you want to buy one for next year! I also saw it on the Homebase website (only available via the website) but it was out of stock. It is currently sold at Argos for £24.99 with the original retail price of £49.99.
** Overall **
A really good fake tree! It was incredibly easy to put together and gives a lovely shape of a Christmas tree! The branches all feel quite sturdy as does the trunk which easily accommodates all the branches. The picture is a little misleading but don't be too disappointed as the tree you actually get isn't bare but not quite as bushy! Definitely a good tree for the price! A recommendation for next year.
