      I bought this toilet roll holder and toilet brush set to have in our caravan. I chose it because it is compact and it doesn't involved having to screw anything into the wall like toilet roll holder usually do.

      It is nice looking because it's chrome it's shiny and it looks good quality and will blend in with any bathroom.

      It has a round base which makes it sturdy and the toilet brush as in the bottom and completely closed in so you can't see anything which I like, makes it look much more hygenic. I don't really like toilet brushes as I think that they must harbour germs but at least with this one it's all enclosed and it's of good quality. The brush itself is quite thin but with lots of bristles which makes cleaning the toilet and getting around the bend very practical and as easy as it can be. I wash the brush well regularly using bleach to make sure that the germs are killed off. The holder itself can be washed out too.

      The toilet roll has a flap of metal over the top of it which helps to protect it and gives it that air of quality. It's really easy to put the toilet roll on and then to dispense it. I've never had a problem with it at all.

      I do really like this. I probably wouldn't have it at home where my grancdhilren could get it as I don't like toilet brushes being around them but for our caravan it is just perfect. I like that it keeps everything together and is very compact yet looks good quality. It's easy to clean and makes a very practical product.

      A fantastic toilet roll holder & toilet brush holder.

      === The product ===

      This is a chrome plated toilet roll holder with a toilet brush attached to the bottom. This will hold one roll of toilet roll and it stands 82.5cm tall.

      === The packaging ===

      This comes flat packed in a cardboard box with a piece of paper showing the very simple instructions to build this. It took just a few minutes to put together and really was very simple to build, the instructions were clear and the packaging was ample to ensure that this was protected when banging it along the pavement several times on the walk home from the town!

      === Where can I buy this & for how much? ===

      This can be purchased from Argos.co.uk and in store for £15.99.

      === Overall opinion ===

      This is very well designed, there is a small metal flap over the edge of the toilet roll meaning you won't end up pulling too much off and it won't get wet if you have someone clumsy splashing around in your bathroom. The body is well designed with a weighty base that stands firm and sturdy on the floor. The tubular body of the holder is nice and chunky and looks stylish. The spring holding the toilet roll is simple to remove and it takes just a few seconds to put a new toilet roll on to this holder.

      The main reason for this purchase was that I wanted to be able to move the toilet roll holder around the room a little depending on what I was doing and I did not want to keep drilling holes in the wall as I chopped and changed my mind about where I wanted things, particularly as we have lovely new walls that are just a little prone to cracking!

      The toilet brush itself is plastic, it gives a slightly cheap appearance but as it is hidden inside the holder this is not really a problem. It's fairly small and compact but does the job well, it allows me to clean my toilet thoroughly and is easy to put back in to the holder afterwards. The holder is a little strange as it almost seems to just hang there with a little chrome 'thread'.

      Overall I would say that this is very nice, it looks stylish, it needs a little bit of work to keep it clean as the chrome plating does pick up fingerprints quite easily but this is easily rectified with a little clean when I am cleaning my bathroom suite. The stand is nice and sturdy, it stands up well and does not wobble or fall over when being used. I am able to position this wherever I want really and this is ideal for when we have little people coming to stay as I can move it forward and hopefully they won't end up unravelling it all over my floor. Also, when my nieces or nephews are staying I don't have to worry about them accidentally dropping the toilet roll as it's nice and sturdy and they probably wouldn't be able to remove this until they are much bigger and hopefully more sensible by then!

      I like this, it's stylish, looks nice, is sturdy and the price was reasonable. It was very simple to build and I am able to position this wherever I want really. The metal flap ensures that the toilet roll is kept clean and dry even when clumsy people (me!) drop the shower head and spray it all around the room!

        A great idea for small bathrooms or as an alternative to screwing into walls.

        When we moved into our new house we had the problem of all the bathroom walls being tiled and due to the strange shape of the bathroom the toilet roll holder would have to have been right behind the toilet, which as we all no is not very practical.

        As we had been very kindly given some Argos vouchers for a house warming gift we flicked through the catalogue and came across this at £12.69. I went online and discovered that there were 2 in stock so sent hubby off to get one.

        He came back 20 minutes later with this product. On the front of the box was a picture, the same as above, that looked simple but would do the job. There had been lots to choose from at Argos but this one wasnt to expensive although the other thing that appealled to me was that there was no fiddly decoration on it that would be hard to clean and harbour germs.

        It took around 30 minutes to build. The instructions were clear but the pieces were fiddly and when he went to put the springloaded holder in place after putting the toilet roll on he cut his finger as it is really sharp.

        The design is great and the whole thing is very compact, fitting perfectly in a small bathroom.

        I do find it gets a bit wobbly now and again and I have to tighten up the screws and that it constantly needs cleaned as it is chrome plated and doesnt like being wet so begins to rust.

        Overall I am very pleased and would buy another one when this one needs to be replaced.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A great addition to any bathroom

          For the past few years my family and I have lived in rented houses that restricted the amount we could decorate and personalise the property, I didn't object too much to the magnolia walls but it was the inability to put up shelves and similar installations that caused problems. One room in particular that was an issue was the bathrooms, always very small and very basic they were difficult to keep looking tidy with all the equipment that was needed but had nowhere to go, the toilet roll always bothered me, with no hanger on the wall it was always left atop the radiator or cistern, not only did I think it looked a mess but I have a clumsy husband who'd frequently knock a roll into the toilet bowl or children who'd splash in the bath and drench the paper which led to us wasting a lot of perfectly good toilet roll.

          The chrome plated brush and toilet roll holder, available from Argos, is designed to not only save space by keeping the toilet roll and toilet brush together but has a protective metal flap over where the roll hangs protecting it from drips or splashes. It comes in a flat pack style which requires home assembly but with clear written and diagram instructions provided I was able to construct the unit in less than 5 minutes. The large chrome plated tubular arch forms the main body of the holder while a weighted circular base prevents it from toppling and moving about too easily, the brush is suspended in a cylinder holder under the spring loaded centre roll which holds the toilet roll, this is protected by a chrome plated flap which can be lifted to make changing the toilet roll easier.

          This is a great space saving device, it allows you to keep the toilet roll that is use in one place and looking tidy while effectively using the same space that is being used by your toilet brush, there's no need to have part used toilet rolls hanging around your bathroom when you've nowhere else to put them. It's great for tenants who are not allowed to drill into the walls of their property or for those who aren't quite as handy with a drill but still want to keep their bathroom looking smart. The chrome effect is modern looking and very fresh, tying in with the chrome effect taps etc of most modern bathrooms, the only problem that arises from the chrome plating is that it is prone to picking up finger prints so you have to polish it regularly to keep it looking smart, of course this is easily done as part of your regular housekeeping routine. I like how it's relatively compact design allows you to easily fit it into even the smallest of bathrooms or toilet rooms and the main arch provides a convenient way to carry or move it around when you're cleaning.

          The holder comes complete with a plastic toilet brush, which like the rest of the unit needs to be assembled first however this is quickly done. It's quite a small brush but works effectively to clean the toilet. Unfortunately I've not seen any replacement brush available so if you like to regularly update your toilet brush you may not be able to find one that suitably fits the unit. I like that the brush and holder comes complete with the unit, however it's designed so that the holder is suspended on 2 points allowing it to swing around, personally I would have thought a more stable, stationary holder would have been more appropriate but that's just a design feature and doesn't effect the usefulness of the unit.

          For an item from Argos, whose product quality is sometimes questionable, I have to say I'm very impressed with this unit, it looks good, does its job and is great quality. For £9.97 I think it was a very reasonable price, it's allowed me to keep my bathroom a little tidier and fits in well with my décor, other similar versions are available from their store or online site which hold additional rolls, magazines etc... so depending on how fancy you want the unit to be and what additional purposes you want it for, they're likely to have a holder perfect for you.
