The Colourmatch range is from Argos and it consists of lots of different items for the home such as soft furnishings, cutlery and small kitchen appliances, they are all quite cheap and brightly coloured.
The blinds retail at a starting point of £6.99 for the smallest blind and £19.99 for the largest, what I love about the Colourmatch range is that it is frequently on offer, I have just looked online and the blinds have 20% off. When we purchased, this offer was also on along with a 3 for 2 promotions so we managed to pick up 4 blinds for less than £50.
The blinds are available in several different widths, 60cm, 90cm, 120cm, 150cm, 160cm and 180cm, each with a 160cm drop and each blind can be trimmed slightly if they are too big for your window, it is worth noting that you don't get a blind cutter with the blind however you can pick these up for around £5 from Argos too.
One of the things I love about the blinds is that they come in a range of different colours such as white, black, red, blue and finally the ones which we chose which was Purple Fizz. We have a purple feature wall in our dining room which is what the conservatory leads off so I though this would be a nice way to carry some colour through (and I did think they may hide the dirt a little too).
The blinds are made from PVC, come with a tilt control (where I can open and close the slats) and finally a cord to open and close the blind, you also get a little hook so you can hang the cord out of the way if you want so little hands cannot get hold of them.
When it came to the installation, I must admit, I was just a bystander as all DIY gets done by the hubby in our house but he said they were really easy to fit and it took him about 30minutes to fit all 4.
I would definitely recommend the blinds, they look stylish and with the large colour choice they would fit into most rooms and decors. As I mentioned earlier, we have a black one in our bathroom and this has been there for around 7 years and it still looks like new. I would recommend buying a blind cleaner though as I find Venetian blinds are a pain to clean.
I decided that I would like some white venetian blinds in my front porch for privacy. I specifically wanted white thin plastic blinds so that some of the light would still come through.
I was really pleased with the prices that Argos offers at £6.99 for the smallest blind.
These blinds are available in 3 different widths – 60cm, 90cm and 120cm. When you go to order these parts they will try to sell you a bling cutter. This blind cutter is useful if it is just the slats that need reducing but you will need a hacksaw if the thick top part needs reducing (which my husband found out).
It was really easy to buy these parts as they were in store. However, I wanted one small white blind and one large white blind and they hang side by side. Argos describes these as ‘brilliant white’ however, on first purchasing these the smaller one was more a grey colour. Argos were however very good and spent time changing this for us and got the best match possible for the 2 blinds.
I am now really very pleased with these blinds as they hang in my front porch. Quite a few adjustments needed to be made to our blinds. My husband did make a fuss about this but managed to have them both hung and looking perfect in a few hours.
These really were worth the little amount of money we paid as they make a bog difference to the look of our porch.
Moving into a new flat has meant I'm back to setting up a new home once again. One thing I badly needed for my lovely new bathroom is a blind, owning lots of stuff in fuchsia pink for the room already I set about investing in a matching blind and I knew that Argos sold loads of products in a funky fuchsia shade as that's where all my previous bathroom things had come from!
This blind comes in a few colours which are Funky Fuchsia, Super White, Purple Fizz, Fiesta Blue, Poppy Red and Jet Black and in several size options all at different prices. Mine measures W91, drop 160cm / W36, drop 63in and it has thin wipe clean slats that measure 2.5cm each which means I can tilt it rather than close it for privacy should I want to.
This was ever so simple to put up. It came with easy to follow instructions in the box. I was lucky this did attach up to the blind fittings that were already put up in my bathroom however you may need to buy a few bits if you haven't got those I guess as this is simply the blind that you get. It took my Stepdad 15 minutes to get this up and looking right and wow I was blown away by the finished look of this one!
This covered my window beautifully however had it of been a bit big width wise it could have been easily trimmed according to my Stepdad though mine didn't.
The colour of mine is a beautiful, rich and bright pink and it is pvc meaning its waterproof so perfect for a bathroom this is. The slats are thin and to the right hand side of it you get a cord which is rather long that I stuck in a hook and looped it and that is to bring the blind up and down so I can clean my window and so on and then on the left hand side of it there is a matching long pink plastic type of handle and that twists easily to open and close the blind and like I said earlier I can tilt the slats to be as open or close as I want them to be.
This is not the strongest of blinds though and I already know that because I had one of these up at the door of my old flat in the colour purple fizz as I had a window I wanted to cover in that and it did get a bit bent and battered over the year I had it however that was because people kept touching it when opening and closing my door and so on so this one should fair better because I will only be using the opening and closing mechanism in the main anyway!
This gives a pink glow to my lovely white bathroom and injects a bit of colour and privacy to my home and I think this is a very worthwhile buy and considering how it looks its cheap as chips as well cos believe me when I was out in places like Homebase and B & Q I was shocked at how much they were charging for a simple blind like this!
Only available from Argos and my sized blind cost me a mere £9.99.
