Advantages: No rings or hooks
Disadvantages: Only 2 sizes
When we first decorated my daughters room, we chose Disney Princess curtains with a heading tape at the top, so you needed curtain hooks and rings to connect the curtains to the pole. This was fine to begin with until the string running through the header tape began to pull out and sag with the way my daughter was opening and closing her curtains.
We needed curtains that didn't have a header tape at the top and could be slotted straight onto the curtain pole, with no need for hooks or rings. These tab top curtains in Argos were the perfect answer.
They come in five colours:
Fuschia (the ones we brought and shown in the picture)
Chocolate
Black
Silver
Natural
They come in 2 sizes - 46 x 72 inches or 66 x 72 inches. We brought the 66 x 72 version and they cost £19.99 per pair. They are far too long for the window but the shorter size were too short, so I will have to make some amendments but otherwise the width is fine for us.
The material is "shot" satin. Basically it is a slippery, shiny kind of material that will always hang really nicely due it its weight, without being too heavy and needing an extra strong curtain pole to hang from. They are backed with a white poly cotton backing which really helps to reduce light being let into the room at bedtime and in the mornings. When the sun sets out side my daughters bedroom we do get a bit of a neon pink glow coming from her room though, although she enjoys this and finds it totally in keeping with her pink obsession!
The tabs at the top are nice and wide and slide along the pole with ease. They don't snag up and it looks really stylish with no creases that had to pulled via tapes or anything.
I think I will always opt for tab tops now when I buy curtains, rather than header tape and rings etc. It look better and is so much easier.
Summary: RECOMMENDED xx
