“ Brand: Asda / Type: Christmas tree decoration / Available in various colours „
I'm one of these people that buys Christmas supplied just after Christmas and put them away until the following Christmas. The crazy reductions that happen after the big are just too good to miss. I picked up a variety of decorations in January 2011 so that I could change my red/gold colour scheme to a pink/purple and silver scheme. I picked up two packets of 26 baubles, one in pink and one in silver. The decorations are available to purchase in Asda when they have all of their Christmas stock on sale, I wouldn't be surprised if they start filling the shelves with these come October! They are available to purchase in a wide range of colours. Each pack was reduced to £1 each and I think the full price before Christmas was around the £4 mark. The packaging for the baubles wasn't that great, it was transparent plastic but the plastic was really flimsy and most packs on the shelf had caved in, however it didn't ruin any of the baubles inside so it wasn't a major problem. Inside the pack are 26 baubles, half of them were normal sized and the others were small. The baubles have different effects on them, although being the same colour, some were shiny, some had a matt effect and others were covered in glitter. There seemed to be an even amount of each effect so you don't have to worry about your tree looking silly with a load of one effect and just a couple of the others. The thing I hate most about baubles is putting the string on, most baubles these days comes separate from the string tie to hang them up with. I spent ages trying to thread each bauble onto the silver string but once they were all done they were easy to hang from the tree. The different effects do break the tree up and once hung up they do look lovely. I first used these baubles in Christmas 2011 and put them away to use again this Christmas just gone. When decorating the tree this time round I found some of the strings had come undone and the baubles just fell off, I think that's probably down to my poor knotting skills when I first attached them, but most were still useable all the same. A couple had caved in where they must have been squashed in storage, but still only a few were unusable so I could still use the majority. The baubles have now been put away for next Christmas! I'd definitely recommend this 26 pack of baubles from Asda. The quality is great and if you can find them on sale they are an absolute steal. The only problem for me was that I had to attach the string to the baubles and that is just a never ending task for me!
When we put our Christmas tree up this year I found that some of the decorations were a little battered so decided to buy some new ones. As I do my shopping at Asdfa I decided to look there first before going out of my way to find new decorations and found they sold a great range of simple baubles. This set was available in my store in many colours such as silver, gold, red, white, lime green and red, as our tree already has plenty of colour and I had bought another pack from Asda in purple I decided to go with silver for this pack. The pack contains 26 baubles in 2 different sizes and cost me £2 although some colours are now in the sale for £1 a pack which is fantastic value. I bought the silver pack and they come in differing effects, there is shiny, matt and glittery although you should be aware the glitter does come off the baubles although not so too much so that you lose the glitter effect. You get 26 pieces of silver thread in the box for you to thread through the top of the bauble and tie to make a loop to hand the baubles on the tree. The baubles are pretty strong and they have been attacked by both children and animals this year and apart from the black cat looking a little glittery the baubles have stood up to the attacks. I would recommend Asdas range of basic baubles as they are well priced and great quality and you can also buy them in a range of different sizes. The colours are all pretty and don't look at all murky and the silver ones are really shiny. The baubles are robust and easy to hang too what more could you really want from some baubles.
Asda at the moment have a huge stock of Christmas decorations available for us to buy. I purchased this pack of 26 mini baubles a couple of weeks ago for £4.00 now they are reduced to £2.00 either price for 26 baubles is a great buy in my book and just the sort of thing I was, at the time looking for! Available in a a hole array of colours from black to white I bought these in fushcia pink after deciding my tree looked a bit dark to be honest. The pink I chose is bright and girly and came in a see through cylinder plastic tub where I simply was told what they were and who they were by on them. What you get in each box is 26 mini (golf sized) baubles in 3 designs so they all have different finishes but are the same shape and size. You get a selection of metalic, matt and glitter baubles all in different quanities per box. The metalics of course are bright, the matt not so and the glitter ones are caked in glitter and all have integrated hoops which are silver coloured to thread with any of the 26 pieces of silver thread provided in the box. The hoops are large enough to not have to mess about too much threading them and all you do is pop the thread through of course and knot it and then hang and its job done! The baubles are all shatterproof so great for people with kids though they do dent if you say chuck them about of course. The glittery baubles make a right royal mess when threading them and planting them on a tree but other than that if left untouched stay flake free and sparkle greatly in the right light. This is a great set of mini baubles and a great idea financially if you are needing to decorate a huge tree or of course have a mini tree and want to decorate it and not swamp it! I have had no issues with these at all apart from the annoyance of having to thread them all myself and getting caked for a couple of days in pink glitter I couldn't seem to shake off myself! Recommended by me though...these are! Only available in Asda stores.
