Asda Neon Straws
Advantages: Cheap, bright colours, strong
My daughter, who is nearly four, likes to have her milk before bedtime in a cup with a straw. I also tend to give her a straw if she has juice to drink, as it's supposed to be better for her teeth. However drinking straws are one of those items that I certainly don't expect to pay a lot of money for!
I do a lot of my shopping online with Asda these days, and spotting these recently I decided they would be just what I need for my little girl's beverages! Coming in at just 75p for a pack of 150, these brightly coloured straws looked like they would appeal to her girlie side.
Bright and simple
The straws come in a square plastic box, which is actually fairly strong. I keep the straws in the box and just take one out when I need it, and the box is a great place to store the straws to prevent them from getting damaged. The straws themselves are bright neon shades including pink, orange and green, but are a nice pale colour so they aren't too "in your face"!
About two thirds of the way up each straw is a bendy section, which enables you to bend the straw at a right angle, which I always do after I have popped one of these into a drink. The straws are pretty strong considering the cheap price, and I have never had any problems with splits or holes. Occasionally I rinse and re-use the straws and, again, I don't have any problems with them even if I use them more than once. My little girl likes the bright colours, and never has any problems or complaints drinking through these.
Overall these straws get the thumbs up from me and MissD. They are really cheap, costing half a penny apiece, the colours are nice and bright, and they are strong. Even the packaging is good! So no complaints here.
Highly recommended - five stars.
Summary: A great box of cheap straws
