Advantages: The price- they're cheaper than others
Disadvantages: none for me
I've been to Asda today while I was there I picked up a pack of their Smart Price straws. They are only 18p for 50 so very reasonable.
The pack they come in is plain with 'Asda Smart Price 50 Straws' in green and white written on front, the back has contact information. There's no resealable flap on this packet once they're open they're open, so I've just made a small hole in the top to remove one straw at a time.
The straws are plastic, straight up and down as in there is no bend towards the top, they feel quite soft. Not as easy to use as bendy straws but I'm not going to complain at that price. They are very similar to my almost empty pack of Tesco value straws except comparing the two side by side shows the Asda ones are longer by more than a centimeter.
In Use:
These are fine, they're just straws but I am surprised how okay they are. They are narrower than dearer regular straws but they seem sturdy enough and don't bend or split while in use. Used with cold drinks there's no problem but I should imagine that thick milkshake might not be sucked through so easily. I've just washed a couple tonight and they are fine for re-use.
I like these and will be buying them again
5 stars
