Asda Smartprice Refuse Sacks
Disadvantages: Too thin, they dont tear from the roll properly
I only ever buy cheap bin bags, I don't like wasting money on something that's going to end up in the dustbin. I usually buy Tesco Everyday Value ones but I was in my local Asda just before Christmas and picked up a packet of their Smart Price Refuse Sacks, I knew I would need extra bags over the Christmas and new year period and as I was there I decided to give them a try.
Asda Smart Price Refuse Sacks are sold on a roll like most bin bags, the packaging is minimal, just a paper label around the roll which gives the Asda Smart Price logo and informs the customer that the roll contains 45 bags.
The bag are made from black plastic which just from looking at them is obviously thin however they are cheap and from the bargain range so its to be expected. The bags are a good size would easily fit most kitchen bins. My bin is quite large and these easily fit it with plenty of spare plastic folded over the top.
The bags have no handles or drawstrings, they are joined together on a roll and like most bin bags need separating by tearing along the perforated edge. The bags cost £1.09 and as I mentioned you get 45 of them for your money.
I have just finished my smart price bin bags and I don't think I would buy them again, the first problem I found was tearing a bag from the roll, more often than not while tearing the bag along the perforated edge the next bag would split making it totally useless.
Once I got a bag in the bin the next problem was the plastic splitting, if anything remotely sharp or pointed was put in the bin it went straight through. Tying the tops of the bags wasn't easy either, I normally buy Tesco Value bin bags and have no problems grabbing the tops of them and tying the up, this was virtually impossible with Asda Smart Price bags, once again as soon as the tops were pulled together to tie up they split.
All in all these were a waste of time, to get a decent bag they need to be at least doubled up and even then they weren't that good, I dread to think what they would be like with garden rubbish!. Compare to Tesco value bags they work out the same price per bag but in my opinion Tesco are far better.
I certainly don't recommend these!
