Advantages: super cheap, helps clean my toilet, durable

Disadvantages: very basic in design, not the most hygenic of products to own in the long run

~Toilet Brush~

This toilet brush set is part of the Smart Price range offered by Asda. It is a two piece set which includes a brush and holder and is only available in white.

This toilet brush set is exclusive to Asda and is currently priced at 53p. Asda so offer other toilet brush sets starting from £2.00.

~My Thoughts~

When it comes to cleaning my home, the toilet is normally at the top of my chores list. It isn't a job I particularly look forward to doing to be honest but I absolutely hate a dirty toilet and would be mortified at having unexpected guests use an unclean toilet. I spent quite a bit of money on cistern blocks and bleach/toilet cleaner but also rely on a toilet brush to help keep my toilet in a hygenic condition.

I'm not sure how often others replace their toilet brushes but I usually replace mine once a month or sometimes more often. This isn't because the toilet brushes fall apart or anything. It is simply down to personal choice. For this reason, I opt to buy a super cheap toilet brush set and switch between the Tesco Value set and this Smart Price set. It is mega cheap and perfect for those who are short of pennies or starting out in their first home.

This toilet brush set doesn't look fancy or stylish. It is a very basic white colour. Our toilet brush set is hidden down the side of our toilet so looks aren't important in this instance. The base of the set is made from moulded plastic which sits neatly on my bathroom floor. The plastic isn't particularly thick but it does seem to be quite sturdy. The toilet brush itself is around 30cm in length and made from durable plastic which doesn't feel like it will snap or crack with very little force.

The brush is the perfect length to use in the average loo. There is an arrangement of wide spread bristles at the end of the brush which are quite firm and secure. This toilet brush is very easy to use. I normally pour some toilet cleaner around the toilet bowl and leave it for a short while before flushing. Whilst flushing, I run the brush around the inside of the bowl ensuring I get under the rim and down the u-bend. My toilet always comes up clean and fresh thanks to the combination of toilet cleaner and a quick scrub with the toilet brush. Any water marks, minor limescale and other marks are removed and I am pleased with how clean my toilet is after using this brush.

When not in use, the brush sides upright in the base holder without toppling over. As with any toilet brush set, a small amount of dirty water will gather in the base holder. I normally give it a rinse out with some anti-bacterial cleaner and also clean the brush too. I find that this set is easy to maintain and keep fresh but I still like to replace it often for my own piece of mind.

~Conclusion~

For 53p I can highly recommend this little toilet brush set. It makes cleaning my toilet a quick and stress-free experience. It is the right length to fully clean the toilet without me needing to submerge my arm right into the toilet bowl. If you want something fancy for a stylish bathroom then you may wish to look elsewhere but I feel that this toilet brush set wouldn't look out of place in most bathrooms as it has such a simple design.

Thanks for reading :)
