Twilight is a hugely popular series of novels which have been interpreted into films. It is especially popular with teenage girls but older women and some guys like it too whether they admit it or not! This set of journals are clearly for the girls though with their design together with the keepsake tin. I will put myself forward as a twilight fan since Eclipse, book 3 came out. I don't mind the films but will agree that the books are much better in comparison.
I am one of those who just can't resist a nice notebook so these took my eye one visit to waterstones in their shiny, beautifully designed tin. I had to pick them up and actually read the packaging to know exactly what was inside the tin which I felt was bad advertising. I like to know exactly what something is for just by looking at it which you don't get here.
I forget what I paid for it now but after a look online, it costs £13.59 from waterstones, they claim that there is a saving of £3.40 on that. However, if you look at sites like play.com and Amazon, you're sure to find it for a much better price.
So the journals, themselves; there are four of them, hardback books, each one carrying the artwork from each of the book covers of the four Twilight Books. As you open the front covers there is a letter from Stephenie Meyer (Author of the Twilight books) to the owner of the journals which I found was a sweet touch and she really inspires you to pick up a pen and start scribbling away.
The pages do not have lines, they are white with Twilight quotes from the books in random corners. Some of the pages have backgrounds to them of forestry. I love the pages and I found it difficult to start writing because the pages are so nice!
However, I found a use for them. One I'm very proud of: I write amusing quotes that I hear people say and date it. I've managed to keep it going and have found that it brings a smile on my face and other people's.
I love these little books. Its a wonderful present for teenage girls to keep their memories and secrets safe or you could treat yourself with them. Why not?! They're lovely!
As I am sure most people know, Twilight fever is still alive and well and there is a multitude of products, gifts and items for those who love the films and/or books. One of these items is the Twilight Journals.
This is basically what it sounds like. Journals, with a Twilight theme. There is four journals in the set, and they all come in a metal tin, with a removeable lid. The lid has a pattern on it, much like a Composition notebook, which is usually found in American high schools and colleges. The tin is mostly black, and is a light metal.
Inside the tin is the four journals, which are hardbacked. The front cover of each journal is a close up version of the front cover of the four books from the Twilight saga. These are the covers of the original books, not the newer versions which have the movie poster on the cover.
Each journal is not very thick, but I wouldn't say they are too thin, probably about right for a teenager, which is the age I would expect most people who want this item to be. The pages inside the journals are white, with occasional quotes from the movies on them. There are no lines on this paper, which I found odd. I expected the paper to not be plain, but then I am not going to write in mine, mine are kept as part of a Twilight collection (yes I am a Twilight geek! LOL)
Personally I think these are beautiful items for any fan of Twilight, whether they will write in them or not. They look nice as single journals, or as the collection together and even the tin makes a nice little piece sitting on the bookshelf.
I bought my set of these on www.amazon.co.uk for around £8. If you have a look around there is plenty of places that will sell them at different prices. The cheaper you can find them the better I always think!
I give these Twilight Journals a 5 out of 5, 100% recommended to all fans of Twilight.
