“ Brand: Avon / Misc House Type: Photo / Picture Frame „
My daughter loves butterflies and dragonflies, so for a little present for Christmas I bought this photo frame and the trinket box from Avon. They cost me £5 each and I thought for the loveliness shown in the photos would be greatly appreciated by my daughter.
I can't say that the picture was in any way wrong, what arrived was what I had ordered, but I must have had beer goggles on when I ordered because the cold light of day on the frame and trinket box was a huge disappointment. The butterfly although pretty was very thin and tacky; the frame itself was silver but scratched and had nothing like the dusky shine the picture has. The trinket box (that I am not reviewing here) was broken so this was a good enough reason to send both back.
I have to believe that this wasn't just a bad batch; they are all going to be like the one I got. They do look very cheaply made and not very nice at all. £5 is an extortionate amount to pay for something of this standard. It does make you wonder if Avon actually check their products before sending them out. I wouldn't buy this again; I didn't even want a replacement for it, I wanted a refund (which I got). Very disappointing.
I dont have many photos up in my house but when avon brought out this beautiful photo frame I knew I had to get one. It origionally started off as £8 I think but when I bought it it had been reduced to £5.
When it arrived it was in a small purple cardboard box with a butterfly design on, so if you were giving this as a present you could just leave it in the box it came in as it was a very pretty box. It was packaged nicely too to avoid it being broken during delivery.
It is only a small space for a photo graph which I wasn't too happy about because it meant I had to cut a photo to fit in so I wouldnt swap the photo as I'd have to keep cutting them all.
The actual frame was silver, very shiny too almost like a mirror. There is a butterfly attatched to the left hand corner of the frame which looks really pretty and delicate. The butterfly is lilac and white and has jewels going around the edge of the wings.
On the back there is 2 small catches to move to place the photo inside and it has a black stand too which of course you can't see from the front.
I loved this photo frame and bought another one for a christmas present too. There was also a trinket box which I also bought as a present and a photo frame to match.
This butterfly photo frame is 1 of a range of 4 matching items that Avon offer. I purchased my frame for £3 in an recent Avon sale book and I am very pleased with it. It isn't very big and there is no way that I would have paid the original price of £8 for it. However, for £3 I was very happy and this would make a great stocking filler.
The metal on the frame looks brushed on the picture, however in reality it is like a mirror and this therefore reflects the light. The butterfly itself is very pretty and this would make a lovely addition to any room, especially a bedroom.
Avon also offer a butterfly tealight candle holder (recently purchased for £3.50), a clock (latest price of £6) and a trinklet box (being sold for £4, the only item I didn't buy).
It is worth making the investment and buying the whole set as they do look great together. The whole set would also make a lovely gift for any lady or little girl.
I received an Avon butterfly frame from my mam as a Christmas present, and it seems that with mother's day approaching, Avon now have these back in stock.
I must admit I'm not one of those people who has photographs all over their house, in fact, until I was given this, I didn't have any photo's on display at all. I managed to find a nice little picture of the dog (yes, the dog, but I love him and miss him loads as he lives with my mam now) so I put that in this frame.
The frame comes packaged in a pink box which has a silver butterfly design on one corner, just like the frame itself.
The frame is stainless steel, therefore silver coloured, and has a raised up lilac coloured butterfly in the bottom left hand corner. The butterfly really is very pretty, the edges of the wings have a slightly raised effect and are adorned with little clear crystals, whilst the body of the butterfly is made from a lilac coloured jewel. Well, I say jewel, but to be honest it's most probably plastic, but still it gives a nice effect! The wings of the butterfly are enamelled in lilac and pale blue.
The back of the frame is black and has two little sliding clips to keep the back on, as well as a sturdy stand to keep it upright.
The space for the photo is 3 inches x 3 inches, which although fairly small, is still an adequate size to display a photo and be able to clearly see what it is from a distance.
I've seen another review which said that up close this looked cheap, but personally I don't think that's the case. It's not the heaviest photo frame ever, but it does have a little bit of weight to it and it's never fallen over or anything like that, so that's not a problem for me. The butterfly design is pretty and if anything I think makes it look a little bit more expensive - the 'jewels' are quite obviously plastic when you get close up, but it doesn't really spoil the look of the frame.
I certainly wouldn't be embarrassed to give this as a gift, and I was more than happy to receive mine as a gift. Obviously because of the design I would say it's more one for the girls, and I think it would suit pretty much any age range.
The frame costs £8 but is currently reduced to £6 on the Avon website - www.avonshop.co.uk. You can also buy matching items including a trinket box (which I have my eye on!) a clock, and a candle holder.
Overall I think this is a nice little frame and would make a great present.
I was really please to see that Avon had another product with the butterfly theme, as they are one of may favourite things.
I bought 4 of these, and they were in the brochure just at the right as i was looking for ideas for Christmas presents. When i purchased this it was on offer for £5, and there was 2 other matching items in the set, the clock and the trinket box, which at that time they were on offer at £5 each too.
Alot of people think that this looks really cheap but i actually find that it looks rather good. The frame is silver and it has a lovely enamel butterfly on the front bottom left corner of the frame, which is in really nice shades of purple and lilac. The frame is not a normal size of frame, it is quite a bit smaller than a 6x4 photo.
If this frame dint have the butterfly on it, it really would be pretty boring. As i said at the start of the review i really like butterflies so i was an immediate fan of this as soon as i saw it, and the 4 people who got this as part of their Christmas all commented on how lovley they thought it was.
The frame also came in a nice purple box with Avon written on it, and it was very well packed to make sure that there was no damage to it, while it was being delivered to your Avon rep. I left my frames in their boxes but if you wanted to make this more special then you could put it in a really nice gift box.
If i had the room i would have bought one for my self as i think that they are gorgeous, and fo the price you cannot complain, it really was a great buy and i am glad i bought them
I got this picture frame from the Avon book a few books ago. You can buy a few different Butterfly items and I bought the set for a Christmas Present. There is a Trinket Box, Clock and this Picture Frame.
This is a square frame and it has quite a large Butterfly down the bottom left hand corner. The Butterfly has a purple stone in the middle and it has clear sparkly stones on the wings. There is a large square border and the picture is square in the middle.
The size is 13cmx13cmx4cm, so big enough, but not too big. This is boxed in thick cardboard and has padding in the box, so it is well protected.
I wouldn't say that it looks nicer in the picture, but it looks more silver in the book and I wouldn't say that this is more a grey colour, but it is a deep grey/silver colour.
The nicest part of this is the Butterfly and I think it would be boring without this deign on it.
This is on sale for £8 in the book, but a few books ago it was on offer for £5. I would say it is worth the £5, but I think it is over priced at £8.
This would make a nice present and the other parts are nice in this design as well.
As I sell Avon products, I do not often like to put people off buying them but this particular product should be avoided at all costs. It costs £8 full price which is completely absurd and is on offer for £5 at the moment. I know that probably sounds very reasonable when you look at the picture of this and see how attractive it looks. However I believe that photograph has been a little over-touched-up.
When I received this frame along with the co-ordinating trinket box, I was expecting something solid for the price I had paid. Instead I pulled out a light as a feather trinket box followed by a piece of tin disguised as a photo frame.
The butterfly embellishment appears as though it is really glittery and special in the photo but in reality I found it was cheap and tacky. It is made of thin metal, a little enamel and a couple of opaque stones. There is not much shimmer to this it is not particularly well made either.
I would rather pay £10 for a nice frame for someone from Debenhams or John Lewis than waste even £3 on this never mind £5.
