Advantages: Good colours and quality, comfortable to hold
Disadvantages: Sometimes blotchy when coming to the end of the ink
I do a lot of note making everyday, whether it is lists or even reviews (as I write them down in a notebook first before typing them up) so I need a long lasting pen to do it all with. I usually buy Bic biros in a multipack so they have different colours in them. The pack I have contains one green, red, blue and black biro. A pack of 4 like this one was on offer in my local Sainsburys store for 74p. I think at value like that, they are a bargain. They also come in a Cristal Grip range which is the same type of pen, but with a rubber grip on it, however I am reviewing just the basic kind. Each pen is made up of a sturdy plastic tube which encases the tube of ink. They all have a metal ballpoint nib and the pointed lid on them which is the same colour as the ink inside, so you know which one you are getting. I have found that each of the colours are bold and stand out well on the page. No pale wishy washy colours here!
On the packaging there is a picture of one of the biros, which says underneath, '2x more ink' which shows that these pens are likely to last a lot longer than other brands.
My Thoughts : I have tried other, cheaper biros but find that these are the best for me. As they come in a variety of colours, I can use them for all purposes, writing and doodling. They are sturdy and easy to grip, so comfortable to hold when writing. I have found with some other brands of pen, that sometimes the plastic top comes off, which means the tube of ink inside slides out all the time, which is frustrating, however, I have never had that problem with these because the nib is fixed onto the plastic, not just slotted inside. The ink does last a very long time, and because of the clear plastic you can see how much ink there is left. I often find that even when it looks like there might not be much ink left, there is a good few pages of writing remaining.
Bad Point : The only bad thing I have found with this product is that when the ink starts to run low, the pen can become quite blotchy and can leave marks on the page. However, I have only found this with the green and black pens in this pack, so could be to do with the colour pigment, or maybe just how hard I press when writing. However, this minor problem does not put me off buying this brand, as for the price, you really can't go wrong.
Overall, these are good value for money for a quality item.
Summary: Good value for money
