A good quality paper plate but a bit pricey

Back in April we celebrated my little boys first birthday with a BBQ party for family. I love having everything matching and colour co-ordinated so we ordered everything we needed from www.partypieces.co.uk including paper plates. The design we chose was the Boys Birthday Bear Party design which is especially for a little boys first birthday.  The packaging was minimal, the paper plates are sold in packs of 8 and each pack is wrapped in cellophane.  The paper plates are just like regular paper plates being made from card with a shiny surface. The plate has a blue and green curvy border around the edge of the top and sides, the bottom has a green border with blue dots over it with a blue checked border.  The background of the centre of the plate has pale blue stripes running up it and a cute smiley brown teddy bear in the centre. The teddy is holding a large blue number 1 and has a number 1 on his paw too. Beside the bear the words I'm One are written in bubble letters. The plates measure approximately 9 inches across making them an ideal size for party food.  On the day of the BBQ/party the paper plates were used and we found them to be good quality, they didn't feel flimsy once food was on them and they didn't bend at all. Food didn't soak into them like some paper plates I have used in the past. Obviously they weren't washable but their shiny surface made them ideal to give a quick wipe over should you need to.  To be honest you can buy paper plates cheaper than these, at £2.69 for a pack of 8 they were a bit on the expensive side but I really wanted them to match everything else and on the day they did look really cute and gave the table a real party feel.  I would definitely recommend the Boys Birthday Bear Paper plates, they were sturdy enough to use and didn't go bendy at all, there are others on the market a lot cheaper but if you want to push the boat out a bit then these are ideal, this design is also available in pink too.
