Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than plain white cake cases.

Cakebourds petit four cake cases

Cakebourds make a lot of the accessories to decorate and to bake your cake, boards to put them on cake cases of different sizes, candles, all sorts of cake decorations.
I bought some petit four cake cases in tescos at the beginning of the summer it was a birthday coming up and I decided to make some tiny cakes and use these cake cases rather than the little cake or muffin sized cases. ( my thinking eating one cake this size is les fattening than eating a bigger “little cake/bun”)

Tesco sell this pack which contains 100 cake cases for 69p that’s 0.01p per cake case which I think fairly good value. You can buy these cake cases at many other stores too.

These paper cake cases are packaged on a thin card sheet which is decorated to look party like. The cake cases have a protective with a see through cover. The cake case in this packet is as you see in two colours a slightly purple blue or an orangey colour. (See picture on top of review page)

Other manufactures also make petit four cases , I have seen cheaper plain white cases also ones decorated to meet many occasion Christmas ones with holly on for example. .

I opened the pack and put some out on the baking tray in preparation for filling. The round base of the case is flat and the edges all crinkly /fluted / pleated. This allows the cake to expand. It is possible to buy bun tins that are small petit four sized but I have none.
The paper of these cases is fairly strong it usually keeps its shape during baking.

I use these and similar petit four cases for tiny cakes for the weekend, or for special events parties birthdays and Christmas. Sometimes I decorate the cakes with icing sometimes not .

I have filled petit four cases with sweet treats like home made chocolate truffles little chocolate rice crispie cakes, or shop bought treats like sugared almonds at a wedding.

These little cases could be used to put savoury treats in.

These little cake cases are good for dieters treats they are smaller than one in a big cake case.

These paper petit four cases make attractive ways to display and serve a few small nibbles at parties. They are easy for people to pick up and eat from . . At a party I sugestr put a few litter bins around as I have known people to screw the empty cases up and and put them any where , plant pots or any convenient place.

Yes I would recommend using these little cake cases when baking they make sweet little cakes.

Summary: pretty little cake cases for parties

Dieters treats? Not this dieter. 5 of these little darlings or however many to make up the size of a large helping to one section of an average cake will do me just fine - and thats with a large mug of tea. Handy review though. Nar2
