Cath Kidston Birds Notebook
Advantages: Makes a great present
Cath Kidston's vintage designs are very appealing. I am one of the first to admit that some of Cath Kidston's goods seem a little bit on the expensive side but I am still drawn to her website. I have a Cath Kidston knitting bag, a Kidston knitting needle holder and many of her pretty china mugs. Our local Cath Kidston stockist often has mugs on offer at sale prices and that makes them pretty affordable.
Cath Kidston has a really good stationery selection which includes stationery boxes, collections of pretty vintage labels, box files, document holders, fountain pens, pencils and notebooks. Cath Kidston has many themes for her stationery which include Rambling rose, Pastel rose, Provence rose and Birds. All of the collections are extremely pretty and although they are not items that you would necessarily buy for day to day scribbles they do make very good gifts.
On the Cath Kidston website, which just happens to be one of my favourite ports of call the Birds spiral bound notebook is priced at £8. However after looking on Amazon I was able to buy the Birds notebook for just under £4.50p - a great saving.
The Cath Kidston Birds notebook made a perfect gift for my elderly Mum who is always scribbling down recipes and notes. The cover of the notebook is made from a good sturdy card that could be wiped over. The design on the front cover is really delightful, the top three-quarters of the cover of the notebook has a creamy coloured background that is swarming with roses, Forget me nots and birds in flight. Under that there is a narrow red polka dot band that separates the floral and bird design from a wider band of pale blue polka dots. To finish it off there is a neat little label on the front which says `Notebook`. The whole book looks really pretty.
Open the Cath Kidston Birds notebook and you find that the insides of the front and back cover have a pale blue polka dot design too. The paper appears to be good quality and as you turn the pages they do lay flat. The top of each page is printed with `Date` and `Subject` and the pages are lined. Mum prefers lined paper because it keeps her handwriting straight! The Kidston vintage style notebook oozes charm and it made a lovely Christmas gift.
This notebook is ideal to scribble recipes down. In fact it would make an ideal book for noting down any favourite poems or special family times that you have particularly enjoyed. It seems that as a designer Cath Kidston cannot put a foot wrong, her quirky vintage style appeals to all age groups. Before I finish I must just tell you that I bought the Cowboy crush mug for hubby ( a horse racing fan!) and my grandson was treated to the Cath Kidston cowboy dressing gown. Both of there made great pressies.
