When it comes to novelty/fun items I love them. I now have a nice flat of my own and have furnished it the way I wanted it. However I like to inject a little humour and personal touches into my surroundings so when I spotted this on Amazon costing £10.99 (including postage and packaging), as a smoker I was unable to resist it to be honest!

The Packaging:

It came in a plain white box wrapped in bubble wrap....nothing exciting!

The Ashtray Itself:

Well the first thing that struck me about this ashtray was the size of it. It isn't small but not too obtuse either. The lips are bright red and slightly glossy with little ingrained lines to the giving them a somewhat fleshy appearance. Made of ceramic its robust and sturdy and looks smooth and good quality.

To the top of the ashtray there is a large red, round knob. Push that and it releases the silver tray to revolve under it which has 3 large ash/cigarette holes to flick ash into or dispose of your fag into when your finished. The silver tray also has 3 small dents to rest your cigarette onto if desired which I think is a great idea.

There are couple of things to like about this ashtray. Whilst cigarettes and ash are in the pot (lips), if not put out correctly they die out as there is no air in there which is a great little safety feature. Smells are hidden too because they are sealed in the pot so you don't get so much stink from fag ends etc. It's easy to open and empty and it looks great!

However for flicking ash the silver tray section is great. it spins and dumps the ash in the pot with ease. However for cigarettes, although the holes are large they do get trapped so you have to mess about and get your fingers dirty trying to get rid of them. It's actually such a pain that although I like it to a degree I've stopped using it and now use a cheap glass ashtray I picked up the other day lol.

Great concept, nice design and it has it's good points but I get sick of trying not to burn my fingers whilst disposing of a fag and/or getting covered in ash! Not for me this sadly, but it will stay on my coffee table for the price it cost me!

I have only seen this available so far on Amazon and at the price I paid for it.
