Advantages: Plenty of colour choice, looks nice and neat

Disadvantages: The fittings are a bit flimsy

When we first moved into our home I bought some really nice curtains for our bedroom, I also bought my 2 cats from my parents home and we got a new kitten. Unfortunately these nice new curtains seemed to attract all the cats who would hide behind them and play, stretch up them and sharpen their claws and my youngest loved to take a flying leap and swing from them. Needless to say the curtains were slowly ruined and I recently replaced them with a roller blind which so far has been cat proof!

I love things in my home to be colour co co-ordinated and buy quite a lot from the Argos Colour Match range, I got my roller blind from here too.

The Argos Colour Match Black Out Blind comes packed in a cardboard box and does require a little assembling. The box contains everything you need to hang your blind and also some instructions, unfortunately these are like most instructions for this type of product and are a little vague to say the least.
All the fixings are plastic and although feel a little flimsy they do their job perfectly well. The actual blind is made from a thickish material that feels a bit like canvas.

The Argos Colour Match Blackout Blind is available in several colours including cream, white, apple green, ocean blue, poppy red, purple fizz, brown and funky fuchsia. .

To assemble and hang the roller blind is quite easy, it comes with 2 plastic brackets that fit into the ends of the blind, these need to be screwed to the wall/window where you want to hang the blind. There is a plastic chain which goes on one of the brackets and this is used to roll the blind either up or down. The only other thing you need to do is slide a plastic pole into the hem along the bottom of the blind, this ensures the blind hangs in position and doesn't curl up. My husband put our blind up and it didn't take long at all.

I've been really pleased with my roller blind, OK its nothing overly fancy but on the plus side it gives the window a nice neat appearance, I don't have to worry about it hanging in nice neat folds like I used to with the curtains and the cats don't see it as an assault course.

To keep it looking clean I just wipe over it with a duster or a slightly damp cloth.

You can have the blind completely rolled up or down or anywhere in-between. The only thing I would say is that its called a black out blind and maybe some colours are better than others at blocking the light but the funky fuchsia that we have is definitely not what I would call a black out blind, however this isn't a problem for us but if you do need complete darkness to sleep this may not be for you.

The Colour Match Blackout blinds are available from either Argos or Homebase and cost £12.94 for a blind measuring W122, drop 160cm / W48, drop 63in personally think this is a good price for this product and the blind is a nice way of adding a block of colour to your room and is also practical too.

Summary: A reasonable priced roller blind.
