This is a review of a product that I find really useful around the home which you may not have come across. They are called rubble sacks are available in different sizes although I tend to use the small sized one.

Description
My sacks are a medium blue colour and made of really thick plastic. The size is 100cm around the rim with a 70 cm depth. The ones I have are in a pack of seven. The pack is branded Concept Living and promises them to be extra strong rubble sacks. Each sack is perforated and attached to the next one so you just tear off the first bag from the roll like a normal roll of rubbish bags.

What do you do with them?
I guess the original idea is to use these for heavy rubbish, like garden waste, garage and general 'rubble' purposes but I have never used mine for this. They are a really strong bag and I originally purchased a few packs when we were moving house to make the job of emptying out drawers and cupboards of small items, so they could be labelled up and moved into the new house without breaking backs or tearing as bin liners can do. I used them for this and realised they were too good to throw away once used in this capacity. I have even used them to sort out laundry for going upstairs when the laundry basket is either in use or at the opposite end of the house. I then discovered they are ideal as mailing sacks for sending out items I've sold on ebay or parcelling books as they are strong and waterproof and help protect the contents with a bit of tape to seal them. I have even used them to sort out laundry for going upstairs when the laundry basket is either in use or at the opposite end of the house.

Price and purchase
I bought my Extra Strong Rubble Sacks from the Range in a pack of seven for a pound.

My thoughts
I am pleased that I discovered the rubble bags. They are so strong they can be reused many times (for clean contents) and come in so handy for moving things around, lining smaller bins, even providing a waterproof layer in the boot of your car if you are moving something messy around or just want to place muddy boots on top of something. For the price they are useful to keep in the house and I found them great when we ran out of cardboard boxes when we were moving house. They even work well for storing things in the loft that you don't want to get dusty. The thick plastic is easy to write on with a waterproof marker pen too. The main use for me has been sending items in the post, particularly when they go abroad and I want to make sure it gets there undamaged. I have used these over a cardboard shoe box to make them waterproof and have never had a problem with them.

Final word
The only thing that isn't so good about these is that there is no handle on them and they are not that big so once they have a bit in them the plastic is too thick to tie a knot in the top really so you have to either leave a bit to fold as a flap or have it gaping open.

I must admit I am a bit tight with my rubble sacks and hide them from my husband who is always pinching stuff to use in the garage, then I never see it again - parcel tape and sticky tape being the most popular item to go missing! These are something I will always repurchase again and would recommend to you as a useful household multi purpose solution.

Summary: Versatile and cheap product
