“ Brand: Country Artists / Type: Christmas Decoration „
===Why I Bought This===
My son's dear old cat was one of these Tuxedo cats - with black and white markings. Every Christmas I would try and find novelties which had images of this sort of cat and that is how I stumbled across these Christmas tree ornaments being sold new on Ebay. Even though the poor cat is now no longer with us this is always the type of cat we go for with ornaments, mugs etc.
Made by Country Artists who make larger cat and other animal ornaments as well.
2.5 inch tall sitting black and white cat.
The hat is red and feels velvety.
There is a little hook on the back from which is fastened a 3.5 inch loop of thin red satin ribbon.
Recommended retail price is £9.95.
The only place I have seen these for sale is new on Ebay.
However while I paid about £8.95 plus postage for mine and there was only one seller then, now there appears to be a few people selling them and the cheapest is currently £4.95 and free postage.
I have found that they do other types of cats as well:
* Silver Tabby
* White Persian.
You can also pick up the cat ornament on its own without the cord and hat attached for £4.25.
When I first found this on Ebay I thought it was so cute. Much more expensive than I would ever normally pay for a Christmas tree ornament - but he was so endearing and as I thought it would be a lovely and unusual addition to son's tree which he has in his bedroom I decided to buy one.
I would scour Ebay by just putting in 'black white cat' into the search box and just see what weird and unusual items popped up - so this was found purely by accident.
The cat is in fact a proper ornament, and came in a box. Made to the same high standards just as if it was being sold to go in a display cabinet - the only difference is that it has a hanging ribbon.
My son was delighted with the ornament and it takes pride of place on the tree every year. We often say we would love to have a tree just covered in these cat ornaments - if we ever came into an inheritance!
Being the same as an ornament we do not pack this little cat away with other Christmas baubles to go back up to the attic, but I keep him all year round in my glass cupboard in the living room with my other cat ornaments until it is time for him to come out again in December.
We have had this little cat for about four or five years now and he s still immaculate, and I'm sure barring a major accident he should last for decades.
I did contact the seller on Ebay after the first Christmas I had bought it to see if she was selling off any of them at a reduced price after Christmas - but sadly she was not - but it was worth asking.
Country Artists' ornaments are of the same sort of quality as Border Fine Arts and Leonardo and I have more larger ornaments of cats which I also have on display.
Just checking on Eaby now and they are being sold at about half the price I paid for them - so I may decide to buy another one!
