Advantages: Strong, hold a lot, opaque
We don't have any room for a rubbish bin in our tiny kitchen, so ever since we moved in we have just used a black bin bag to put our rubbish in.
Because of this we do tend to get through a lot of bin bags, at least one a day usually. While I definitely don't see the point in paying over the odds for something as simple as bin bags, I have to admit that I do steer away from the dirt cheap ones.
This is because they're simply not strong enough to hold very much and can cause a real mess if the bag splits, which happens a lot with the cheaper ones. The bin bags that I have been using for the past few months is these ones.
They're Daisy branded which I think is the name for Tesco's own range of cleaning and household products. each roll has 20 of the bags and is priced at £1.99, which is over a pound more than the value ones, but I do definitely think that they're worth it as they hold a lot of a rubbish and don't split.
The bags are black which I like as you can't see the rubbish through them. Obviously for people with bins this isn't a big issue but because we just keep the bin bag hooked onto the kitchen door handle it can look even worse if the rubbish is visible through the bag, but these ones are opaque so you can't see any.
The bags hold up to 70 litres of rubbish and I find them to be a good size. We have a small bin in our bathroom and a medium sized bin in our bedroom and one bag can hold the rubbish from both of these bins even when they are full to the brim. We had a big clean out recently which included piles of books and I used one of these bags to hold them in to take them to the charity shop and it didn't break or split even though the books were really heavy.
The best thing about these bags is that each one has tie handles, this stops any rubbish spilling out once we place the bags into the outside rubbish bin so we never need to clean it and don't need to worry bout cats or foxes being able to get into our rubbish and trailing the rubbish everywhere. The bags aren't the cheapest but they're not too expensive either and a bag of 20 will last me for about 3 weeks.
I'd definitely recommend these rubbish bags as they're strong, hold a lot of rubbish and are quite good vaue for money.
Summary: Good quality, strong bin bags.
