Advantages: Clean, fresh smell
Disadvantages: None
Despite the fact that I have plenty of animals in my home (and I wouldn't have it any other way) the one thing that I actually hate is the smell. Of course, the pet odour smell is something all pet owners have to face but I hate the smell and the thought of people walking into my home and smelling that pet smell and being put off is enough for me to be OCD in cleaning my home generally every day I am cleaning something. To help I like to use air fresheners just to help with the smells that is associated with animals and generally every day living.
One air freshener I have been using for a while now is the Dettol NeutraAir. I generally buy it when it is on offer and stock up as I find it economical that way. Dettol is a household brand known for their germ killing products from sprays to wipes and now to aerosols. Dettol is a brand I have been using for years and I find that it gives great results and is something I can rely on to help keep my home germ free especially with a child and pets running around.
Dettol NeutraAir is an air freshener which has been specifically formulated to eliminate odours right at the source and therefore killing any smell that may occur. It also has the ability of killing 99.9% of bacteria in the air. The aim not only to keep your home germ free is also to provide your home with a fresh and clean scent which lasts longer. It is available in three varieties: Fresh Morning Dew, Soft Water Lilies and Citrus Breeze all in 300ml aerosol.
My Dettol NeutraAir of choice is Soft Water Lilies partly because I preferred it over the others as I love the scent of lilies and as shallow as it may seem I preferred the pink packaging. The 300ml aerosol is just like any other air freshener there really is little difference. The green Dettol logo is on the front together with lovely images of lilies all the way down the front of the canister. On the back there is all the information you need about the product, how to use it, ingredients list and of course warning information.
To use the Dettol NeutraAir you simply press down on the top of the plastic cap and it sprays out as a fine mist. The Soft Water Lilies fragrance wasn't quite as floral as I expected it or as sweet but it does have a very pleasant floralish type aroma but isn't as fragrant as the standard aerosols you can get in floral aromas. But for me as long as it managed to keep odours at bay I wasn't too fussed with how floral it was but it is incredibly pleasant and is actually quite refreshing.
The fine mist goes quite a way but you can clearly see it when it comes out so you know where you are spraying the aerosol. The fragrance starts immediately which is nice and it does give that clean aroma that you are wanting. I find that I tend to use it after I have cleaned just as a top up especially when using bleach and wanting to get my home in a fresher aroma than the bleach aroma. The fragrance does last for quite some time after it has been sprayed which is obviously nice and that pet odour has almost vanished.
My cats and dogs tend to sleep and eat in the utility room which is where I like to keep the odours at bay and the Dettol NeutraAir manages to keep the odours under control for quite a few hours after using it which is nice and it manages to get round the kitchen and downstairs easily with a few sprays. It does exactly the job that it claims and for an aerosol I am quite pleased that it lasts for as long as it does and leaves a pleasant slightly floral aroma behind.
I do use other air fresheners around my home but this is one that I prefer and use a lot. I find that it works and helps keep odours at bay without any issues. As for the 99.9% bacteria free air I cannot of course say that it does or doesn't but I'd like to think that it does. For me, this is one product I will continue to buy as I like the results. Definitely a recommendation and I can award it 4 stars.
